Overview

H2O is a contemporary crossover women’s novel that tells the story of Kate Pepper, a successful young business woman in Seattle whose life is suddenly—and strangely—turned upside down. Unexplainable visions torment her every time she gets wet. Sinking into despair, frantic to avoid water at any cost, Kate ultimately finds romance and redemption through the advice of simple people who love her for who she is, not what she was.
Kate Pepper has it all . . . a razor-sharp intellect, perfect health, stunning beauty, a wildly successful career, and all the money she can spend. Or rather, she thinks she has it all.
Despite the perfect shell, there’s something dark inside Kate. Terrible visions send her into a deep depression and her world crumbles. All her business savvy and elite connections don’t make a difference; she has lost control.
Who will save her? Xavier, her predatory boyfriend? Or Candice, the Down syndrome waitress at her favorite coffee shop? At the bottom of her dark well, desperate to get out of the water, there’s nowhere to reach but up.
H2O—a fascinating allegorical look at success, sanity and spiritual redemption in a young woman’s relationship with water.

    Jump in!!! The waters great!

In H2O one quickly meets the star of the book Kate Pepper who is in search of something more in life, but she can't quiet put her finger on it at first. Woven throughout the book one will see Kate's desire to fulfill this void with her own personal Ecstasy; Coffee, Speed, and the need to be truly cared for by a man. Often she has flashbacks of her Grandfather and his warm touch and love and desires that kind of love. Kate is stuck in a seemingly endless cycle of living the rich life and doing everything within her own power to keep that lifestyle afloat.
At times Kate has very powerful visions when she comes in contact with pure H2O. In many of the visions there is a radiant man that expresses genuine love for others and she wants to know who he is. Life seems hopeless to Kate and chaotic, but she comes in contact with a few key people that help her find clarity and direction. Kate finds genuine love in places she had never looked before. In the end she finds out that what she was looking for was always there.
This is an amazing read that you can't put down. When you end a chapter you have to read the next to find out what happens next!

Excellent!!! Would make a great present for Christmas or Birthday.

Few books draw the reader in the way H2O does from the 1st paragraph; even fewer hold the reader captive to the end. Brilliant! Provocative! Insightful! A must read! But be warned, it will leave you thirsty for more!

    Intense!

Kate Pepper, a successful, intelligent, yet self-destructive woman suddenly finds that when she comes in contact with pure water, she has mysterious visions, turning her 'perfect' world inside-out. She loses everything she equated with success and happiness, falling into a deep depression and becoming a recluse. Her one 'confidant' is an online friend, a stranger, who seems to understand her, without passing judgement. How these two finally meet has definitely got to be a 'miracle' in the works!

Kate's personal demons made her so real, so sad to read about, for example: her over-bearing boyfriend/boss tells her she needs to watch what she eats because she has belly fat...that is wrong on so many levels!!!!! Add to that, Kate weighs 102# and is a size 2, and we can see how messed up their relationship is. I wanted to just shake her!

When Kate loses everything, she has time to reflect on her life, all while avoiding the touch of water, which she has become totally terrified of. When the mystery of these messages starts to become clear, Kate has the potential to become whole again.

Beautifully written, dark, emotional, with spots of sunshine throughout!

The edition was provided by NetGalley and AMG Publishers in exchange for an honest review!

    Amazing! Must read!

When I first started reading this book, I wasn't sure what to expect. As I continued I was drawn into the imagery in each of Kate's experiences with water. I could not tell at first which side these images were coming from but as the story progressed I was drawn into the knowledge that God our Father, with His Son Jesus was drawing Kate as well as me into a deeper more meaningful relationship with Him through His word. Drink in the water, His water NEVER runs dry!

    Supernatural women¿s fiction

    Review by Jill Williamson
Kate Pepper has a great job that she loves, but her handsome boyfriend—and boss—is very controlling. But Kate takes life one day at a time, working hard and hoping for the best. When she begins having visions, everything in her life shatters. The touch of water brings the visions on, so Kate moves into a bizarre existence, doing everything she can to keep from touching water. But life isn’t getting any better. Kate must face the content of her dreams to keep from drowning.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t like this book at first. It was Xavier, the boyfriend. I was horrified at how he treated Kate, and I almost didn’t want to have to read any more! But it was worth it. The overall story was fascinating. (And Kate finally gets away from that horrible man.) The visions were an intriguing plot twist that I enjoyed. Overall this book reads like a women’s fiction novel about relationships, the drive for success, and where you put your hope. Kate put her hope in her own strength, and when she had no strength left, she almost didn’t make it. A fascinating story. Give it a try.

*I received this book free for review. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

Oh to be clean through the Living Water!

I LOVED this book! It's amazing to me to think of the lenghts that our Wonderful Savior will go to when trying to bring his children back to his side! I think that Kate had the kind of like that alot of us fantasize about having. She had the great job, the great condo, the good looking boyfried, and the money to do pretty much as she pleased. She wasnt a bad person. She lived a great life, and was a repectible person. Though she had turned away from Gods love for so long. Its amazing to see God ...moreI LOVED this book! Its amazing to see God working in her life, even as she has no clue to the fact that he is placing her in all the right places with the right people so that He can get her attention. Over and over she is told that someone is trying to reach her and she doesnt want to listen. She can't fathom that it could possibly be God trying to brign her back to his side. She has made some mistakes in her life, some mistakes that she is so ashamed of, that she believes that they are unforgiveable. But it takes loosing her great life, a deep depression and trying to learn to live her life without water to truely open her eyes. She finally see's the people in her life that truely care for her. She finally makes a connection with a friend that litterally came out of nowhere in her biggest time of need. They show her through their nonjudgemental ways taht God doesnt hold on to our mistakes, he doesnt care about our past trasngressions. His love in unconditional and nonjudgemental. And in the end, the connections with these wonderful people and finally accepting her visions, brings her back to "The Radiant One". And He is finally able to make her clean through The Living Water! Scary as the visions must have been, all I can say is that, to be given such gift as to look upon our Saviors face and hear His voice. I'd be playing in water all the time!!! Thank you to Brannon Hollingsworth and Autin Boyd for sharing this wonderful book and their love the God, The Father! God bless you both!

Recommended - Very good book on spirituality and finding your way

    fiction
    [edit]
H20 is a deeply spiritual book without being "preachy." I enjoyed the imagery and being completely immersed in the mind of the lead character. There were parts of the book that hurt my heart and others that made me laugh. Having been raised in an extremely religious environment I can understand the feelings that Kate had about her past. Often coming from such a background if you ever leave you will find it hard and maybe even impossible to go back to even an image of that life. I find that I am still very spiritual myself unlike Kate but that I too had to find my own path. The use of water was perfect however, I would have liked to have more of the story behind the others found on the internet who had the same issues and the link to God. I believe there is much more to that part of the story and maybe we will get to delve more into that area in future books as I am sure that there will be more. I believe that Austin and Brannon developed Kate's character very well even expressing feelings of insecurity that did not show on the outside for her. Many women live their life leading such an act. Thanks to the authors for giving me a story that I felt involved in.
