I really liked the banter between best friends Dee and Zara. There is a lot of loving between Talon and Zara. It is stated as a 500+ nook pages, but it would jump every 3-5 pages. I love the connection between Talon and his biker brothers and how the men extend that to the women of the their friends. There is action and real steamy scenes (some of the violence in this story is a little bit more then usual. The guy does not save the day before the women gets hurt a little like in most stories, which is such in real life, so beware. It is not bad, just a bit more then the norm...) With that being said...I have read all four of this series so far and find all the books great. Same type of violence in different ways but more to real life situations. The Hawk's club, Talons' club, most of the men have come from rough up bringings and have become a family of there own. They extend that family to the women the men get hooked up with. Some women even save the day as well which I think is great. ALL THE CHARACTERS

I really enjoyed this book, can't wait for the second book to come out. I loved that it jumped right into the story, no long drawn out back story needed. Please give this one a chance - you won't be sorry.

Funny, entertaining, with love, sex, betrayal, and a whole lot more. Totally awesome book I have this book as part of the Born to Ride book set and when I read this one I was awe struck at how great the book was.  I laughed and cried and everything in-between. The character interaction was some of the funniest stuff I’ve read in a long time.  Even when shi* hits the fan, the author can still make you laugh.  The book has a little of everything to include a hot Alpha male MC President (Logan), a hot mom (Zara) next door that’s the two have been skirting the connection between them for two years.  And just when they start to get together all hell breaks loose from outside forces to include an abusive EX (David) who wants Zara back. Zara’s been in hiding for 6 years and now her brother comes to find her to tell her that their parents are dead.  The club vows to help protect her but can they?  I cannot convey how great this book is, you have to just get it and read it for yourself.  Well written, action packed and very enjoyable to read

Okay I bought this because it had a lot of great reviews. Sadly this was not a great book. The premise was really good, had a lot of potential but failed to follow through. The language was pitiful. I don't have a problem with rough language but this was more like immature shock value cussing & name calling. It added nothing to the story. Alas the page count on my nook state 551 but when you count by 3's and 5's it was only 130ish. Now if you want a great biker book Kristen Ashley is your author. After reading her this is a sad disappointment.

As I get older, I find that the verb "shouted" should be used less than more. If characters are shouting and yelling in everyday conversation, it gets on my nerves. Any time I'm faced with that behavior in books, I have to force myself to keep reading. Unfortunately, there was just a lack of character depth that didn't provide an alternative draw to this story. It is a good first effort, but I'm looking for something a bit more mature.

Holding On by Lila Rose  4 out of 5 stars Zara has been on the run for 6 years. Having left her abusive husband after a particularly vicious fight, she and her daughter Maya have relocated with the help of her friend Deanna.  They are eventually able to afford their own house, not knowing it is across the street from a biker gang compound.   Talon who is the head of the club and Zara feel an instant attraction when she storms over in her pajamas and tells him to turn down the music.  They do not act on their feelings for a long time and even then they have a lot to work through:  they both have children, he has been with various women in town, and her ex is suddenly hot on her trail.   I liked the premise of this story and enjoyed it more after the first couple of chapters.  The fact that they hadn't been together and he "claimed" her was a difficult concept to grasp.  I liked the interactions between characters and the dialog was funny.  I will definitely read more by this author because I am curious to see what happens to the rest of the characters.  *A complimentary copy was given in exchange for an honest review* Susan, My Secret Book Spot

OMG this book was horrible! I only made it to page 183 and could not make myself go to the end. From page 1 this book was bad and it only went down hill from there.

Zara and Talon were neighbors for 2 years and kind of danced around each other. Talon has decided to go for it with Zara and bulldozes into her life. She doesn't know what to do with him and has a horrific past because of her ex-husband. She fled her life with him and has been raising their daughter for the past 6 years by herself. He beat and raped her and Talon knows none of this history when Zara moved in across from his Clubhouse. She has seen the women come and go and knows he is a player so she is quite reluctant to start anything with him. He proves to her that he is not using her and really wants a future with her. Her past comes stumbling back into her life in a tragic way and she needs Talon and his Club to keep her, her friends and brother safe. It was a quick read and did have a good enough story line to keep the pages turning. I did not really like Zara or her best-friend and they were both quite trashy throughout the book. Their foul language and over the top bad behavior just didn't sit right with me. She wanted no swearing around her daughter but thought nothing of trying to claw out the eyes of any woman who was near Talon. The episode with his ex-wife was not something that should have happened and Talon should have controlled both of them better. I did like the ending but found it hard to believe how little Zara and Deanna worked throughout the course of this book. Zara was supposedly supporting herself and her daugther, yet only worked a few times throughout this book. Not believable to me.

Author needs to hire a closer. Lot of issues not addressed.

This was a weird book for me. I genuinely liked the first 3 or 4 chapters and was excited to read it, but it quickly went downhill from there. It really felt like 2 different people wrote this book and I'm honestly still confused about how that happened. Zara and Talon's characters suffered after those first few chapters and seemed like completely different people for the rest of the book. The storyline became so farfetched I just wanted it to end. There were also a bunch of pointless characters introduced. 3 stars because I actually wanted to finish the entire book (to some extent). I also surprisingly enjoyed the kids in this story and wished they had a more prominent role, they were probably my favorite characters.
