About this book and how it made me feel

This was the best book i have read in my life of reading. This book had lot or drama and very exciting things going on. In this book it talks about other people life and how they live in the ghetto. The characters were great it actually felt like i was one of the characters in the book and i could understand what the writer was talking about.

MUST READ

This book was so good! I was supposed to read it for school and had a whole schedule set up for the book, but it grabbed me in and i couldnt put the book down! The ending really surprised me, I never thought that would happen. MUST READ. Definitely changed my views on gangs and vengeance.

This book is one of the best books I have ever read. It brings Drama,Revenge,Mistery,and Very good life lessons. For people like me that arent into reading as much this book is the kind of book to read it took me not even a week to read this book because it was so amazing that I couldnt put my book down!! I honestly love this book.

Great Book

well i started reading this book the other day i just brought it. so im like on chapter 5 so it is a good book to read. It kinda teaches you about how gang's and gang members are so anybody who want to read this i think should. i really like this book so anybody thinking about joining gang's or that are in a gang should read this

awesomeness

This book was epicly awesome, a lot of action, suspense, and realisim. its amazing that the things in this book actually happen on a regular basis on the west and east side of our country. with the crime rate rising and the gangs roaming the street its not hard to see senseless violence happening every day. the characters seemed very realistic, almost like they were actusl people. and the story line itself tied the entire book together.

Great Book!

This book was extremely good. It had action, realism, and it was very edgy. It was the best book I've ever read. The thing I liked the most about the book was its realism. Also, the word usage in this book made it feel even more realistic and some of the situations were described so well that it made you feel as if you were there. It was like if the book was stuck to my hands, I couldn't put it down.

Awesome!!!!!!!!

This Book Homeboyz written by Alan Lawrence Sitomer is a very good book, it catches your attention in the first few pages. It always make want to read more and more and also put you on the edge of your seat. Its an east read but it was really well done. Very realistic and also up to date. Its was like how it would be in real life. Its a very good action book but also it kinda emotional. Its connect to the reader and it is unforgettable. Its stay in your mind and the description is very wonderful its like you were actually there. I personally reconmend it for everyone even to people who doesn't like to read. I guanrentee you wouldnt be able to put it down once you start reading it. Its such an awesome book.If you havent read it yet then what are you waiting for go and read it.

Revenge Gets You Nothing

"Homeboyz", by Alan Lawrence Sitomer is written realistically and displays the gang world of today quite accurately. Also, specifically the syntax and word usage in this book made it realistic and some of the situations were described so well that you felt as if you were there. However, there was a particular theme that was obvious, that revenge is not necessarily a good thing. The main character of the book, Teddy Anderson has his sister killed by gangsters "on accident". His family is absolutely devastated, and his mother spends most of her time by herself in her bedroom prior to the murder. At first, all Teddy wants is revenge, to get the killer but his selfishness gets him nowhere but juvenile hall, and this supports that revenge is not a good thing. He gets out of juvenile hall and is still selfish at this point, "His parents world was crumbling, but he had work to do" (Pg. 165; 20-21). This shows how selfish he was and how ignorant he was of his family and what they were going through. All he wanted to do was kill the killer of his lovely sister. He has to go through probation because he assaults three gangsters and gets caught. This is how he meets Micah, a young boy who seems to be becoming a gangster himself. Teddy is forced to tutor this young boy, but after a while they become close friends, and change each others lives. Teddy brings Micah out of the gang world and Micah takes away the selfishness that Teddy has. Micah brings the family together, after him and Teddy finally become friends, and the family unifies and realize that they will only hurt even further, without being a true family. They come together, the killer gets killed regardless (not by Teddy), and Micah is brought out of the gang world and becomes a part of the Anderson family. I highly recommend this book, because it anything but boring, page after page is full of excitement and action. The only thing that was probably bad about this book is that it wasn't a challenging read, but this is just a minor issue, the book overall was amazing and seriously one of the best I have read. On a scale of one to ten I would definitely give this book a solid 10, because it's realistic and the conversations that take place within it use the language that gangsters would such as "yo" or "wassup". "Homeboyz" by Alan Lawrence Sitomer was an excellent read and the theme that I got out of this read is that revenge, although it seems like a good thing, gets you nowhere and gets you nothing.

This book was amazing!!

A must read book if you like non stop action and very realistic.

This Book Was Great!!!

I had to read this book for summer reading, and it was absolutely a great, great book. I never wanted to put it down and when i did, I was always thinking about what was going on inside the book. This BOOK IS A MUST READ!!!!!

FAVORITE BOOK OF ALL TIME!

This has to be my favorite book of all time! It has a clever twist that kept me reading! I was so into this book i forgot lunch i was reading so much! Five Stars

To be honest, I do not read more than two books a year. In fact, I hate reading. I find it insanely boring; however, Alan Sitomer¿s masterpiece, Homeboyz, has made the exception. I am shocked that it has not won an award.
Sitomer uses an interesting technique to tell the story too. He starts out explaining the setting in amazing detail. Then after sharing the setting, he explains the reasons for what is going on.
A great example is when the main character¿s father comes home late from work two days in a row and throws Teddy a bag of KFC. Teddy feels like his father is quite distant from him. Most authors would move on with the story, but Sitomer does not. He explains why Teddy¿s father has been acting so unusual. After his daughter¿s recent death, Teddy¿s father only has the strength to wake up in the morning. For the past few weeks following Tina¿s murder, the father grows increasingly depressed and detached from life. For instance, the father loses his ability to perform at work. As a result, the company he works for loses a client they had for thirteen years. But I won¿t say anymore about that because then I will ruin the story.
Sitomer also makes this book an extremely easy, suspenseful read. I have spent many nights where I would stay up for hours because I just can not put the book down. I know this sounds cliché, but it is true.
The best part of this book is that I found a new author that is great at writing. His new techniques I believe will bring a lot of people who hate reading, like me, a chance to enjoy reading. I plan on reading the other two books in the Anderson family trilogy, Hip Hop High School and The Hoopster. I highly recommend this book to everyone.

It was dope

This book was really good. The ending kind of caught me off guard but overall it was a relly good book. Teddy was a very smart boy, his little sister jus was in the wrong place at the wrong time and she got killed and from then on he seek revenge. So throughout the whole book he was searching for the person responsible for killing his sister when he found him he couldnt do it. But all in all I relly enjoyed this book.

HOMEBOYZ is the final book in the Anderson family trilogy by Alan Lawrence Sitomer. He brings the dangerous and deadly side of gang violence to life, and at the same time reveals the emotional and touching relationship that develops between Teddy and young Micah. Readers who enjoyed HOOPSTER and HIP-HOP HIGH SCHOOL will be pleased with this final book. It also works well as a stand-alone for those not familiar with Sitomer's other books.

Interesting

I checked this book out @ school for AR and i only need a few more pages and i have only had it for about for days. It is amazing cause I dont like to read what so ever but Istarted reading this book and Igot real in to it. The only thing about it is that it is a bit desturbing in some parts of this book.

An amazing book!

Homeboyz is one of the best books I have read, and I have read MANY. Although this book has its share of 'gangsta' moments, it is also scientific as well. All I can honestly say is 'LOVE IT'. I don't want to spoil the ending...it was well written. Just phenomenal in my opinion.
