Overview

Hi. I see you’re reading the back of my book. This tells me that you either:

A) are hoping to find a brief summary of what to expect from a how-to book by Sterling Archer, the world’s greatest secret agent, or B) don’t know how books work.

If your answer was “A,” your best bet is probably the table of contents, which is where you’ll find the “contents” of this book listed in a convenient, easy-to-read “table” format. So maybe go check that out for a minute and then come back here. I’ll wait. . . .

Pretty cool, right? What other book will teach you how to dress properly and how to drive an elephant? How to field strip an AK-47 and how to haggle with a Thai prostitute—in her native tongue? How to pilot an airboat and how to make about a million delicious cocktails, including a Molotov one? How to kill a guy and how to prepare a fabulous brunch? Plus how to do tons of other stuff that I forgot, but that is nonetheless probably in this book (which, to be honest, I really only kinda skimmed).

So if you want to learn more about how to be more—or at all—like Sterling Archer, the world’s greatest secret agent, quit smearing your greasy fingerprints all over this book and buy it. For one thing, I really need the royalties. For another thing, the last time I checked, this wasn’t a damn library.

(Note: If your answer was “B,” this probably isn’t the book you want to start with.)

    Booyakasha!

If you're a big fan of Archer, you should definitely check out this book. It's filled with all sorts of references from the show, but also keeps it fresh with new insights from Sterling's world. The writing is as if the characters really did write this. Definitely read this. You won't be disappointed.

    It's a funny laugh

I'm a woman so none of this would apply to me even if I ever considered using any of Archer's techniques unless I twisted it to make it a feminine style. But it's a really really funny read, especially if you read the entire book with Archer's voice in your mind. I'm glad I chose to buy it.

A must-read (especially for Archer fans) but definitely shell out for the print version!

If you like Archer, you'll LOVE this book! And if you don't, go chew on a poison dart frog. But Nook users beware... the electronic version is full of distracting punctuation errors (lots of commas that should be periods, vice versa, etc.) But the more egregious shortcoming is that all of the footnotes - quite numerous and hilariously essential to your true enjoyment of the subject matter - are relegated to the very end. Obviously it's impossible (or at least maddening) to keep flipping back and forth on an e-reader, so this is one you'll want to pick up in hard copy. Or soft copy, as the case may be...

    Great for a laugh

Fun, light reading for fans of the show. The writing captures Archer extremely well. I find myself returning to the book when I want a particularly amusing reference. If you're sensitive, be prepared to be offended occasionally, and take it in stride.

    For Fans of the Show

This was a pretty entertaining (and easy) read, but I'm also a big fan of the show. It is very true to the Archer character and you can hear his voice as you read the book. I don't think somebody that has never seen the show would get the humor. A must read for any Archer fan though.

    Funny

Quick hilarious read. Imagining it being read in Archer's voice just made it funnier. If you're a fan of the show, you'll enjoy the book.

Worst purchase that l've made thus far.

The author has created a shallow parody of the Fleming JAMES BOND series and it is not even a bit humorous. The author would do well to switch to another profession - writing certainly is not it.

    Starts great, ends mediocre

I love me some Archer. If you love Archer you too should enjoy the book. About the first 1/3 of the book I was laughing so hard, and wanting to share just about every paragraph with friends and family. After that it started to drag on. By the end of the book, I was glad it was over.
