Overview

Dawn Rochelle has just turned fourteen, and her cancer has been in remission for almost a year. This summer, as she helps prepare for her brother's wedding and goes to camp, her life seems almost normal again.
But when Dawn returns home from camp, she's suddenly tired all the time. Her latest test results show that the worst has happened: Her leukemia is no longer in remission. Dawn must receive a bone marrow transplant from her brother. Even with the transplant, she only has a fifty- percent chance of survival. Will Dawn live to celebrate her fifteenth birthday?

Editorial Reviews

All five books about Dawn Rochelle's struggles with cancer and overall health have been reprinted and will make a fitting gift for any who want the complete set. I Want To Live charts the lapse of Dawn's remission period and the challenges she faces in handling a bone marrow transplant from her brother; but the others in the series detailing her initial diagnosis, struggle for life, encounter with an ill friend, and ongoing mental changes make for excellent leisure choices.

I want to live was a great book. It showed a great bond between a brother and sister. It also showed how cancer can affect a teenagers life. I'm fourteen, and I admit I used to take life for granted until I read the Dawn Rochelle series. Now it makes me look at life differently. This book is a must read.
