Overview

After the last fiasco, Sally gives up. She'll never find a Dom of her own. Instead the computer whiz is job hunting in between bending the law--just a bit--to unearth the bastards who'd enslaved her friends. The clueless cops and Feds obviously need her help.

FBI special agents Galen and Vance have waited to play with Sally for a long time. When the mischievous submissive returns to the exclusive Shadowlands BDSM club after an ugly relationship, the experienced co-tops are more than pleased. Realizing she's suppressing deep-seated emotions, the powerful Doms push her--only to find that her sassiness conceals a scarred and vulnerable heart.

Shaken by the unexpected emotional exposure, Sally flees the demanding Masters and the Shadowlands. And that should be the end of that, since both Galen and Vance have reasons not to seek a long-term relationship, especially with a submissive who doesn't want what they can give. But when a brutal attack by her ex-Dom sends Sally into their home, the two agents are driven to protect her. To help her. To take her under command. Falling in love isn't in the plans.

But the little imp brings light into their lives, and just as they begin to want more, they discover she's hacked into an organization that delights in burning people alive. Now more than hearts are on the line, and Sally's submission could save her life.

This is the last book in this series I do believe. What a good ending to. All of the trails and tribulations come to a head in a bang of an ending!!! Sally and the agents make for a good story line. I did find the seen around pg.200 disturbing but will not say anything bad about it. was just not my cup of tea. I must also say that I have loved all the books in this series.

I was so looking forward to the release of this book, but it is least favorite of this series. Not as well written as the others. I thought the relationship between Sally and the Feds would be more intense.

Sally Hart, a Shadowlands trainee, has lost interest in BDSM since her relationship end a month prior. Sally's heart just isn't in it and maybe she should quit altogether.  As Sally scenes with another Dom she fakes an orgasm and gets caught doing it. Now Sally has to take her punishment at the hands of Galen Kouros and Vance Buchanan or as she calls them Demon Doms. Galen and Vance like that they get an opportunity to play with Sally even under the circumstances. But Sally doesn't like how perspective the two Doms are and does all in her power not to scene with them again. Sally learns that she was a target for Harvest Association and takes matters into her own hands to make them pay. Galen and Vance are still on Harvest Association case but leads are drying up fast which leaves these two agents frustrated to say the least. Sally is attacked and can't be left alone she put under the care of Galen and Vance. Can Galen and Vance learn what's wrong with Sally? Will Sally allow them to help? What does Sally's investigation bring up? Will Harvest Association be stopped for good? Your answers await you in If Only.

I've LOVED this series so far, and I was really looking forward to Sally and her Feds. But this story failed for me -- I actually stopped reading about halfway through (which is why I had to go with one star). The reason is simple: The Feds were extremely underdeveloped as characters.  I realized from reading Sinclair's shifter stories that the trick to a successful menage is building the relationships between EACH of the characters. Three characters, three relationships. Yet everything in this book was about Sally. I couldn't even figure out why The Feds wanted to share a woman. I'm certainly not judging them for doing so (or I wouldn't have picked up the book) but I wanted to understand what led them to want to do that, specifically with one another. They'd been teaming up before Sally, so it wasn't about her, even if their every internal thought and almost all their dialog was about how special she was. It was enough to drive me mad. I could barely tell them apart, and I wasn't convinced by Sally's need for two strong doms instead of one. All in all, I was disappointed with this volume in the Shadowlands series, but Cherise Sinclair is my favorite erotic author (by a lot) and I'm not done with her. Every author is entitled to one or two bad ones. :)

I've loved every one of the shadowlands books but I'm so glad Sally got such a great story. Every word keeps toy glued to the end! I plan on rereading the series all over again it was that good!

I love Sally. I have loved her ever since Cherise introduced her to us. I was anticipating this story for so long but held off on reading it because of a couple friends opinions. I'm so sorry that I waited. I should have trusted that the story would be done to serve Sally justice. This may actually be my favorite Shadowlands book to date. The feds (Galen and Vance) are a perfect compliment to Sally. I never realized Sally's lack of deep emotional attachment the rest of the series, but the way it came about here was natural. Learning of Sally's home life was a little sad, but gave strength and credit to her character. Her "spunk" and fire within are never really diminished - despite people in her life trying to put it out. Sally actually needs the pair of men in order to make her shine to her fullest potential. In this book, we get to see Sally fall and then blossom as she finds herself and what she really wants and needs out of life. We see the feds go from being with play things for a night to wanting a long term relationship - something they never expected for years. We also meet their families and learn so much about their inner selved. They truly are exceptional men and are deserving to be masters. We finally get complete closure from the scum sucking Harvest Association, and that couldn't come too soon for me. There is one sexual scene that people I know have voiced displeasure with. While it may not be right for everyone, it's written well and doesn't elicit negativity as this reader was initially led to believe. Embrace your inner kink and be respectful of others'. We also get an insight into a problem that Dan and Kari experience after marriage and childbirth. It's a very common problem that so very many people go through. The resolution takes a little time but is presented perfectly and proves that you should always communicate both verbally and physically with your partner. I highly recommend this read.
