Overview

Impressive Bravado was attacked in his stall. The sheriff calls on veterinarian Dr. Katie McCarty for her opinion. Someone targeted the young stallion for an unauthorized neutering. Is it barn rivalry or something even more sinister?

Katie finds a crazy woman who calls herself a 'Horse Whisperer' running a barn full of teen-aged girls and young stallions.

This is a recipe for disaster - luckily Dr. McCarty's there when it strikes.

I loved this little story. In only 7 k words, the author has managed to tell a wonderfully satisfying, complete story with complex, engaging characters.

Dr. Katie McCarty is a newly-minted veterinarian. Early one morning she gets a call from a handsome Deputy because someone snuck into the stables and gelded an expensive colt.

I understand this may be the first in a series. I certainly hope so; I want to read more of Katie and her friends, family, and foes.

Meet the Author

K. A. Jordan is a refugee from the Rust Belt of Ohio, who escaped to the Blue Grass Kentucky in 1992. She writes and blogs from 'Jordan's Croft' a small farm where she lives with her husband, a retired Army Staff Sergeant.

She holds a degree in Applied Science, rides American Quarter horses, gardens and can often be found on the back of her husband's Suzuki M109 motorcycle.

She says of her writing: "I write the stories that I want to read and can't find - complex characters, twisty plots and contemporary settings. There are no 'ripped bodices' in my novels , but you might find charming criminals, wounded heroes, mad artists and an occasional haunted motorcycle."
