Joyful Noise: Poems for Two Voices is a wonderful book about insects. It is the 1989 Newbery Medal winner and is a great way to introduce children to poetry. As a teacher this book of poems would be an excellent way to educate students on the life of insects. The book teaches about thirteen different types of insects and is very fun to read. Joyful Noise was meant to be read aloud by two people, in the classroom the teacher could get students involved by having them read the poems aloud to the rest of the class. This book could be enjoyed by any age group, however, if I were integrating it into my classroom, I would probably choose third or fourth grade. The book falls into the genre of poetry.

Joyful Noise by Paul Fleischman. Fleischman intended for this book of poems to be read allowed by two persons. The sound of two voices coming together to project a ¿joyful¿ rhythm for listeners about how insects creep, crawl, glow, fly and even sing. Any child of any age can take this book of poems, use for a tool to learn about the life of an insect in this world that we share or for enjoyment and amusement. It would also be a great book to teach children and interest them in the beautiful genre of poetry.I would defiantly recommend this book.

Joyful Noise is a collection of poetry about insects that two people read together. When read correctly, it has the sound of a sonata.

I rate the book Joyful Noise by Paul Fleischman a 4 star book. I rate the book a 4 star book because the poems were tricky and fun to read. It was cool the way they made the lines in the book so that you can figure out who says what. It was a very good book in alot of ways, especially the way they used insects instead of people in the poems.The poem about the Water Striders was one of my favorites. Another favorite poem was the book lice poem.I liked this one because they say silly things all the time. My favorite poem of all was the poem about an ant's life.It's my persoal favorite because one ant is complaining while the other is bragging. Over all I really liked this book , it was fun to read all the poems. My mom liked reading it too. Some other books I would recomend would be J.K. Tolken's Hobit and The Lord Of The Rings series. Some more books I would recomend are all The Chronicles of Narnia books by C.S. Lewis. The last book I would recomend is RASCAL. A statement about myself would be that my favorite sport is Football and I love RuneScape.

Written by Paul Fleischman, I gave Joyful Noise: Poems for Two Voices 5 stars! The reason I gave Joyful Noise 5 stars is because it¿s a fun book to read. With 13 different poems all about insects and animals, it¿s a fun book to read no matter what age you are. The different animals range from Fireflies to Honeybees to Whirligig Beetles. With so many different animal poems you won¿t want to put the book down! My favorite poem is Book Lice. It talks about the bug¿s life in all kinds of different books. Another one of my favorites is Water Boatman. Although I have a couple of favorites, I loved all of the poems in the entire book. This is also an educational book. This is because it teaches you all about every insect in the book. This book won the 1998 Newberry Medal and if you read Joyful Noise you can really tell why. With an illustration done by Eric Beddows it is a book for kids even if they cannot read. You can tell what the different insects look like if you don¿t already know. This is just a great book for anyone to read. I also recommend I am Phoenix: Poems for Two Voices. I am a twelve year old Middle School girl in North Carolina.
