Size does not matter when it comes to this book. Walter does a great job telling his story as usual! I enjoyed reading it.

Be warned - Karma is a short story, NOT a novel. Upon completion of this eBook, I expected to understand the backstory of the Leonid McGill character. Contrary to how the book is marketed, Karma dances around the edges of Leonid's history, but does not explain much. This perhaps could be Mr. Mosely's intent...to slowly reveal the character through the series. As a die-hard fan, I have come to understand that Mosley is slow to reveal the history/motivations of his characters at times. In a nutshell, Karma does not deliver on the promise, but I encourage true beleivers to continue on to the other books within the Leonid McGill series. Mosley is still one of our most gifted story tellers in the modern crime series genre.

In “Karma,” Walter Mosley tells us the story of the moment McGill decided to change his ways, when a seemingly classic femme fatale forced him to confront the reality of his life of corruption and betrayal. It was the culmination of a dark and tragic case that reached back through McGill’s entire career, plumbing the
