    I Also Recommend:

    Jeremy Robinson Delivers Again!

Jeremy Robinson delivers again! Kronos is another positively addictive page-turner. Atticus young is a former Navy SEAL trying to come to grips with the death of his wive and increasing disconnect from his teenage daughter, Giona. On a scuba diving trip, Giona is swallowed by a massive, unknown beast of the sea. The only thing keeping Atticus alive is his desire to hunt the creature that took his daughter. Into his life walks Trevor Manfred, a ruthless multi-millionaire who wants the beast as a hunting trophy.

The story moves forward at Robinson's typical fast pace. Manfred is a shady character, and there are tensions between Atticus and one of Manfred's primary henchmen. The tension is ratcheted up when Atticus's former military colleague Andrea, now an officer in the Coast Guard, enters the picture. The blend of action and mystery never relents. The publisher should put a warning label on the cove: Do not open this book unless you have time to read the entire thing. A few scenes feel either a bit forced or contrived, such as an early scene in which Atticus roughs up some street toughs who mess with his his daughter, but does it in such a way that the reader is apparently supposed to conclude that he is a tough guy, but not a "bad" guy, though he could be if he wanted to. Atticus's conversation with his mother after Giona's loss is a bit cliche, as is much of the Manfred story line. The plot is engaging enough that it more than outweighs these areas of relative weakness.

In many ways, this book is reminiscent of the early works of James Rollins, Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child, and Steve Alten. There is a satisfying mix of mystery, monsters, and action. Action-Adventure fans who have not yet discovered Robinson would do well to make this their first exposure to one of the most talented writers in the genre. Buy your copy of Kronos today!

Great...an easy read, no slow scenes

Great book, very gripping, yet a easy read. Its a little longer than it could have been, but thats no big deal. When you are reading the book, you just have to read with a open mind, because it is a little difficult to believe. The pro-god stuff is a little......rough, but with an open mind, its not TOO bad. I love that its a nice easy read, with no slow, stagnent scenes. Well worth the money.

    A nice surprise

I had no idea what his author was up to with the Origins Editions, but was so pleased I ended up reading 2 more! There is plenty of action (blood and guts), but I especially liked the clean language and absence of sex plots.

A Fun Action and Adventure Novel

Former Navy Seal and now oceanographer Atticus Young and his daughter, Giona, are on a dive off the coast of New Hampshire when the unthinkable happens, Giona is taken from him right in front of his eyes by what appears to be the largest whale to ever swim the oceans. Atticus himself also suffers some very serious injuries, lucky for him there is a Coast Guard Cutter near by. The first person on the seen just happens to be a long ago sweetheart from Atticus's younger days named Andrea. Still trying to cope with the loss of his wife and now with what just happened to Giona, Atticus brings back his Seal mentality and vows revenge on the mighty beast of the deep. After seeing the news cast of the incident Trevor Manfred, an acentric billionaire invites Atticus aboard his yacht named the Titan, which is the size of some war ships and easily the most luxurious vessel on the seas, to go after and extract revenge on this monster. From here the action and adventure part of the book really shine. We find out that the Titan is much more than just a mega yacht, as it is packed full of surprises. If you are a fan of James Rollins or Clive Cussler then you should enjoy Kronos as well. The book is fast moving and Atticus is a likable character. Overall it was just a fun book to read.

    Propaganda

This, like the others of his books, are basically thinly disguised pro-Christian, anti-anything else propaganda. If you want to see the world through the narrow minded POV of what must be a true Christian Fundamentalist, who clearly has little use for the rest of the world's beliefs, then this is the write for you.

If, however, you want a fun, exciting story, devoid of preaching and smack-you-ver-the-head-with-the-Truth bits, then avoid this book, and everything else he's written.

    Kronos, by Jeremy Robinson

Kronos was my first exposure to Jeremy Robinson's work. It introduces oceanographer, Atticus Young, an intelligent former Navy SEAL struggling with family issues. His wife has recently passed away and his relationship with his daughter is not what he wants it to be. In an effort to mend broken fences with his daughter, Atticus takes her diving off the coast of Maine. A once in a lifetime dive to explore a pod of peaceful humpback whales turns out to be anything but expected.

Atticus and his daughter are nearly killed when the pod of whales suddenly stampede. This leads to the shocking realization that there is an unknown super predator of the deep that even a humpback whale fears. Though narrowly, Atticus escapes and becomes driven to hunt the newly discovered ocean predator. In the process, his path crosses that of Trevor Manfred, an eccentric billionaire and a desire to claim the creature as a one in a life time prize.

Kronos is an adventure packed thrill ride that reminds me of the work of Clive Cussler. Robinson spends as much time creating a powerful and dynamic hero and an equally devious and driven villain. All the while riding a roller coaster of adventure than keeps the pages flying by. And as Atticus Young hunts the creature he calls Kronos, he realizes that it may not be the first time this creature has hunted man. An ancient and unexpected twist leads to shifts in the loyalty of the primary and secondary characters as they all struggle to come to grips with the secret of Kronos.

    A very excing book

Atticus Young is an oceanographer drawn into a great and dangerous adventure on what starts out to be a wonderful day spent in reconciliation with his daughter, Giona. A beautiful swim with humpback whales in the Gulf of Maine turns into a day no father could imagine as he helplessly sees his daughter swallowed by a great beast that stealthily moved towards her and engulfed her before she even knew she was in danger and before he could finish trying to call out her name. Since his wife died two years prior this leaves Atticus with not much else except for the thirst for revenge. This leads him on a thrilling, life-threatening adventure into a terrifying world beneath the sea that was not even known by this oceanographer. This book has many of the classic struggles in man versus man, man versus nature, and man versus himself in a tale made very believable. Also, the emotions brought in with the man and his search for peace with his daughter bring a very human touch to a story filled with sea monsters and the unknown

    excellent as usual

Kronos begins by making you think it is a nice story of widowed, father seeking reconciliation with his rebellious daughter by taking her on a one in a lifetime, scuba dive in the Gulf of Maine, but the plot quickly turns ugly as an immense, unknown creature our seemingly out of the tales of mythology engulfs the young woman, leaving no trace of her or any of her gear. Atticus Young, the grief stricken, father can only watch as he saw it coming and could not even get her name out when the beast swallowed her. His momentary horror and paralysis quickly turn to anger and revenge as he heads to the surface to make his plans.
This quest for revenge leads him to meet up with a power hungry billionaire who makes his own heavily armed yacht available to Atticus with the only stipulation that when Atticus fells the great beast the corpse of the beast becomes the property of the billionaire as a trophy. It is from here that Atticus embarks on an extremely dangerous mission and encounters terrifying discoveries below the ocean¿s surface. This deadly journey is the stuff of myth and legends but with the skillful story telling it is not hard to imagine being mistakenly drawn into this terrifying underworld and the journey is an adventure well worth reading.
