Reviewed by Author Anna del C. Dye. for Readers Favorite Kayin and Abbos are to be mates. She doesn’t like it, but she knows that as Alfa of her pack she will have to accept many things for the benefit of her people. That is why she resists the feelings she has for Luke, a renegade member of the pack whose father was trained to usurp the leadership of the pack and kill Kayin’s father. At least that is what her father told her. Now she has become the head of her pack and not everyone is happy about it. The witch Lauren needs to keep her from asking too many questions. Also, Lauren has to make sure that Kayin is playing the game her way to keep their pack from great danger. Still Kayin isn’t being fooled. She knows something is wrong and she won’t stop until she discovers what it is. When that happens, she will personally destroy her enemies. What a nice shape-shifting tale of a pack named the Gifted that hunt their enemies, the Eldon. I enjoyed the book and the tale it tells. I find the plot well thought-out and interesting. The idea is new and could be well received by most. Though I found the tale very inventive, my only complaint is that this book does not follow the rule that each character needs a separate paragraph in a dialogue. The result is a bit messy and confusing as you wonder who is saying what. If it is edited properly, it will be loved by teens and adults alike.
