The Girls of Billing are still grieving over the loss of Cheyenne. The sisters can't believe that one of their own would commit suicide. But Cheyenne was expelled at the end of book five, INNER CIRCLE, and the girls believe Cheyenne couldn't face leaving in disgrace.

So we arrive at the start of book six in the PRIVATE series by Kate Brian.

Reed Brennan can't stand seeing everyone so down and depressed. So she convinces them that a day in town shopping and a nice dinner will do everyone wonders. The gals of Billing dormitory head off into town and have a wonderful time. Retail therapy and good food perk them all up. And much to Reed's surprise, while at dinner, the girls unanimously elect her the new president of Billings Hall. Reed is speechless, but she accepts and plans on making Easton Academy forget the bad that happened while Cheyenne was running things.

But when the girls arrive back at the dorm, everything comes to a complete stop. For there, standing in the dorm, is none other than Noelle Lange. She's back! Reed has missed her terribly, but she can't believe that Noelle didn't tell her she was returning to Easton. Right from her return, Reed's roommate, Sabine, doesn't like Noelle. And the
feeling seems to be mutual. Noelle snubs Sabine and hustles Reed off for some private talk. Reed's boyfriend, Josh, is upset that Noelle is back and is afraid that she will bring out the worst side of Reed.

Reed is in shock at how, almost overnight, people she never spoke to have taken the time to acknowledge her, and bestow gifts upon her. But with her new presidency and popularity comes a price. Cheyenne's family was going to be sponsoring the Legacy (invitation-only elite party for the important prep school people) but with her death, the Legacy has been cancelled. Or so the students of Easton believed. Then someone receives an email from off-campus with the easily recognizable Legacy invitation. Everyone looks to Reed for guidance.

Reed is determined to find out who is sponsoring the Legacy now, and to secure invitations for those that have been snubbed. With the help of Noelle and the rest of Billings, Reed travels into New York City to track down the anonymous party planner.

Will the elite of Easton get to the famous Legacy party? Will Reed convince Josh that Noelle is not up to no good? And will the local police decide once and for all if Cheyenne really committed suicide - or was it more sinister?

Ms. Brian continues the PRIVATE series with much suspense and dark humor. This series is similar to the IT GIRL series, but with more intrigue and backstabbing. Once you pick up one of the books in the series, you'll be drawn in and have to find out how all the rich kids live and play in the private school setting.

Good YA Series

Caution: This review contains spoilers!

Reed and the rest of the Billings Girls are back in Legacy, book six of the Private Series. They are mourning the loss of Cheyenne and trying to get answers to their questions surrounding her suicide. This is the second death on the Easton campus and the question is how can tragedy strike the sheltered and the elite?

Cheyenne was president of Billings House prior to her death. Now that the presidency is vacant, only one Billings Girl seems appropriate to replace her: Reed. The same day Reed accepts the nomination, a surprise awaits her. Noelle is back at Easton Academy.

Meanwhile, Halloween approaches and it's time for the Legacy. There's just one problem: the Easton students have been blackballed. And no one knows why. Now that Reed is president, it's up to her to get everyone invites. As much as she enjoys being president of Billings House, Reed also learns it comes with a price.

i love how Dash just randomly started liking Reed al of a sudden but i still think he belongs to nolle forever no matter what

Another great book of the series! This series has me guessing every step of the way. The ending of this one makes me just want to go out and get the next one.

The headline is amazing!

"Legacy" by Privacy is a chick-flick novel written towards young girls. Unlike others, I believe that these types of stories leave messages or morals that can be applied to a typical day-to-day teenager life. Its normality and simplicity make it easier to relate to due to the fact that the main characters are girls my age, going through the same or similar experiences I have been exposed to. Its protagonist, Reed, is a high school girl trying to fit in to the "Billings Group" which is the elite group at Easton. It's just when a letter arrived to her, from one of her friends Cheyenne that had committed suicide short before saying "I blame it on you," that the real story began.

She received this note and felt incredibly guilty afterwards. Cheyenne was the leader of Billings and they'd long detested each other since Cheyenne had interfered with Reed and her boyfriend Josh's relationship. A couple of months passed and Reed was elected to be the Billings president, the exact job Cheyenne had before dying. She felt she just had to say yes. Being in the Billings was an old dream, and being Billings' president was even more astounding for her. She had come from Croton, Pennsylvania, a town where nobody even cared what type of clothes you wore and then got sent to Los Angeles Easton High where the top, elite girls in the United States attended. It was a complete, drastic change. So, she decided to take the job and everything started out great, until she received a mail from Cheyenne saying "It's still your fault. You can't escape it,". She kept receiving your creepy e-mails from a dead girl, haunting her every move.

After a while, these e-mails stopped arriving to her and at last she could focus on being the greatest Billings president ever and on pleasing Noelle, a friend of hers which she had long-lasted idolized. On these ideals, she wanted to keep Easton being the institution it had always been, the best academic and partying school. There was this party named "Legacy" which happened every year during Halloween, where every top social class student attended. Every year, they'd wait for this party to arrive, and little did they know that they wouldn't be invited to it. Everyone looked up to her for help; she did everything reachable from going to the place where the invitations were made to where the invitations came from to get to the bottom of the situation.

Finally and with lots of skillful acts, she found a way to sneak in all of those anxious Easton students in, and so they went. Everyone idolized her. Reed Brennan, a simple girl that was not even supposed to attend "Legacy" because she did not have ancestors who'd attended private schools, had made their way in. She had gotten to the place of popularity where she had always wanted to be in, and she was enjoying it. Except she did not know where the party was headed to. The burning down of the Billings tower and the seeing of Cheyenne were not even close to remote ideas in her mind!

I definitely do recommend this book. Many other intriguing details happen, but I won't tell you more. I'll leave it on you to read it and find out!

BEST BOOK OF LIFE!

This series is by far the best books I have read in my whole entire lifee!
If I hadnt listened to my friends' advice and not read it, I dont know what I would have done, the characters and the whole story line is rememberable, I havent not liked one of Kate Brians books so far! (;
& I really dont think I ever will not like one.

Legacy - To DIE for!

Legacy was TO DIE FOR! This is by far the best book so far, keep in mind there are still 3 novels waiting to be unleashed on all us eager girls. The suspense, the love triangles, the decadence that was exquisetly described, made Legacy EASILY one of my bookshelf favs. Props to Kate Brian, very well done.

This book is absolutely amazing!! The suspense wants you to keep reading.. and the whole story is just amazing. Events that you think would never happen actually do.. This is definitly the best book in the series... I definitly recommend it.

Awesome!

I just finished this book and I LOVED IT! I'm honestly happy Reed and Josh are broken up! I think something is seriously wrong with Josh like at the end of the 4th Josh was acting weird. I really think Dash and Reed belong together! I can't wait til Privilege with Ariana Osgood comes out though! I LOVE this series and if you think its bad you're wrong! Are any other Kate Brian books good??? Please answer!

This book was to my opinion the best of the series! i like how it was susspensful... And then the legacy... Wow. Tottally suprising what reed did.

Cant wait for the rest !

I loved it! we are left at such an intense part of the story! i mean josh left reed ( which i hope they get back together) someone started a fire and the fact that reed keeps having the feeling that some one is watching her . i have a feeling that whoever started the fire was the person that reed thinks is watching her ( who she thinks might be Cheyenne) i CANT wait till may for the next one !! :D

This series is probably the best series i have ever read. It's like the clique or gossip girl but with a mystery. But with all they mystery with Cheyenne and Thomas, we need a new one! There needs to be a new juicy mystery. This book was good, but without the mystery it wasn't the best.

This book is amazing!

I read every single on of these novels and they just keep getting better after the hard-hitting end of the last book Inner Circle this was a perfect follow up. I hear the next book is just as good.
