Meet the Author

Mary Kay Andrews is the author of the New York Times bestselling LADIES' NIGHT, SPRING FEVER, SUMMER RENTAL, THE FIXER UPPER, DEEP DISH, SAVANNAH BREEZE and BLUE CHRISTMAS, (HarperCollins) as well as HISSY FIT, LITTLE BITTY LIES and SAVANNAH BLUES, all HarperPerennial.

A former reporter for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, she wrote ten critically acclaimed mysteries, including the Callahan Garrity mystery series, under her "real" name, which is Kathy Hogan Trocheck.

A native of St. Petersburg, Florida (and a diplomate of the Maas Bros. Department Store School of Charm), she started her professional journalism career in Savannah, Georgia, where she covered the real-life murder trials which were the basis of MIDNIGHT IN THE GARDEN OF GOOD AND EVIL.

As a lifelong "junker" the author claims to know the location of every promising thrift store, flea market and junkpile in the Southeastern United States, plus many parts of Ohio.

She has a B.A. in newspaper journalism from The University of Georgia (go Dawgs!), and is a frequent lecturer and writing teacher at workshops including Emory University, The University of Georgia's Harriet Austin Writer's Workshop, the Tennessee Mountain Writer's Workshop and the Antioch Writer's Workshop. Her mysteries have been nominated for the Edgar, Anthony, Agatha and Macavity Awards.

Married for more than 31 years to her high school sweetheart, Tom, she is the mother of 24-year-old Katie Abel and 20-year-old Andrew. After a three-year hiatus in Raleigh, NC, she and her husband recently moved back to their old neighborhood in Atlanta, where they live in a restored 1926 Craftsman bungalow.

    not waste your time

Have read almost all this authors books. They are light, easy, entertaining reads. However, this one was a complete waste of time! I usually don't write reviews but felt compelled to warn you on this one.

    ????

Up to the last readable page I would give it a 3 0r 4. However, it appeared to miss the last few chapters. Jumped from being tied up in a boat to the end. How did characters get from one point to the other?

    something seems to be missing

Ok book but frustrated because I read til the end and there is a big gap in the story sequence and plot. I assume it is missing? If you want to use your imagination you could just guess what happened?? One minute they are kidnapped on a boat and they next they are telling a friend about some things that happened. They don't explain how they got away? Or rescued?

    Disappointed

I have read another series in the "Breeze" series and loved them. However, this one was not as funny or enjoyable. I have to truly say that I was so looking forward to this one only to be disappointed.

    Fun Gambling Read

Breezy read with good humor. Truman Kicklighter is a sympathetic protaganist. My only complaint is that there are a number of errors in the sequences where betting on the hounds take place.
