## LOVED THIS. Another winner by Ms. Beck. Josh and Melody were fun and flirty. Their chemistry was undeniable. Melody was a marvelous heroine. Beautiful and fun-loving. I really adored her. I loved the humor that Ms. Beck incorporated into the story. The scene with Melody's nieces and Josh was hilarious. And just the right amount of hurt as well. Do yourself a favor and read the whole series in order, if at all possible. All the books are fabulous. I will definitely read again myself.

Josh Bradley applied for the position of Fire Chief of the Bluelick, Kentucky FD, as a stepping stone to bigger and better things.  He wants to be the Chief of a larger, busier, big city fire department.  He's bored in this little town and the most exciting thing going on is watching Melody Merritt feeling up the cucumbers in the market.  He reminds himself that he doesn't do good girls.  Melody Merritt can't help but to fan herself every time she sees Chief Bradley.  He is perfection!  She's dying to shed the good girl persona and she starts by confronting him in the produce section at Boone's Market.  Is she ready to set the sheets on fire with Chief Bradley?  It certainly seems so. I do LOVE a good story with amazing sex scenes because there are plenty of those in this book.  Phew!!! Samantha Beck really knows how to write a entertaining, funny, scorching romance.  I highly recommend this fantastic romance with a sexy fireman that can talk dirty with the best of them! Received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book had it all...humor, steamy sex scenes, and a FIREMAN! You'll need to keep a glass of water nearby to extinguish the flame after reading this book!

This was a wonderful story of mutual attraction, desire and compromise so hot that it's a good thing Josh is a fireman! The characters and dialogue are so scrumptious that I didn't put it down till I finished. A really really enjoyable read!

Hands down, Samanthe Beck is my all-time favorite Brazen author! She has a wicked sense of humor, which comes across in her books and makes a well-written erotic romance all the more enjoyable. Bluelick, Kentucky, isn’t exactly the hotbed of action firefighter Josh Bradley was hoping for when he transferred from Cincinnati to fast track his career. With no chance of advancement until the chief retired, which the man showed no sign of doing, he'd stalled out in the CFD. But moving to sleepy Bluelick to become fire chief had been a mistake. If the last three months had proved one thing beyond a shadow of a doubt—he was a city boy. He needed action. Something in short supply in Bluelick. In fact, the only thing that had raised his temperature since arriving is resident good girl Melody Merritt. A head-turner by any standard, she practically personifies the place with her deep-rooted family tree and small-town sensibilities. Yet, something in her lake blue eyes makes him wonder just what’s underneath that prim and proper exterior of hers... Every female past puberty sat up and took notice the day Josh Bradley hit Bluelick—contemplating torching their own kitchens and feigning loss of consciousness to get a ride on his broad shoulders. And though prudence and propriety may dictate that a girl who’s just ended an unsatisfying ten-year engagement to her high school sweetheart wait a decent amount of time before letting some strapping male animal with overactive pheromones haul her off and have his way with her ... Melody Merritt is ready to be bad. And who better to burn her sterling reputation to the ground than the town’s sinfully sexy new fire chief? After spending years sacrificing and compromising and focusing on the future, which got her nowhere other than two short years from the big three-oh, unmarried, childless and damn near a virgin, she's decided it's time to take the bull by the horns. So when the wicked looks he gives her one night across the produce section of Boone's Market makes her clench with need, Melody’s suddenly dying to know what the rest of him is capable of... Even though it might qualify as the stupidest thing he's done since he took the job, Josh can't resist seeing how far Melody will take things. But he isn’t about to let anything—or anyone—trap him in this Kentucky-fried Mayberry. He plans to serve his time—a year, max—and then move on. But when their searing chemistry yields an unexpected result, Josh soon realizes he’s started a blaze that’s completely beyond his control... In the second installment of her Private Pleasures series, Ms. Beck, once again, delivers down-to-earth, enjoyable characters in a somewhat predictable small-town story. But then, I don't read read her books for the suspense, intrigue or complexity—if you know what I mean. If you haven't read Private Practice, the first book in the series, well, what are you waiting for?! The timelines in both stories flow relatively parallel to each other and there's some crossover of characters as well, yet each book can easily be read as a standalone. But why deprive yourself of two such highly entertaining reads?! A scorcher indeed, Light Her Fire is a sexy, witty, highly combustible erotic read with a satisfying HEA.

After the scene in Private Practice I could not wait to read this book and the wait was well worth it! They had it going on from the get-go and kept it going the whole time. Worth the read!

Samanthe Beck is one of my favorite authors, I have thoroughly enjoyed every single one of her books, and when I found out that she was writing for this one I couldn't wait for it! This definitely lived up to expectations, Beck has this amazing talent at making her characters real, and getting me invested in them early. She also had the knack of getting a good balance between plot and sex, there's not too much or little of either, and it makes the story that much more enjoyable.  We met Josh and Melody briefly in Private Practice, Josh intrigued me a bit but I was a little leery of Melody. She appeared to have mean girl written all over her, and it was so good to get to know her in this book and find out how wrong that first perception of her is. These two had such amazing chemistry, but not just that, they had some incredible banter.  I really enjoyed this book, I couldn't put it down. And when it was over all I wanted to do was read it all over again! I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series, Falling for the Enemy.  **I received an ARC of this from Entangled Publishing, this in no way affected my review.**

I haven't read the first book in Samanthe's Private Pleasures series yet, but I have every intention of fixing that soon. Even having not read the first book, this story stands all on its own. I didn't feel like I'd missed anything – except what I'm assuming is another sweet and sexy read.  Light Her Fire is the story of good girl Melody and playboy fire chief Josh Bradley. Melody is fresh out of a failed engagement with a man she dated for two years. Josh is new to the small town of Bluelick and can't wait to serve his time and get back to the city. It was a career move and he has no intention of staying in the country. It's not the life he wants for himself. Melody, on the other hand, is Bluelick born and raised and can't imagine living anywhere else. After her failed engagement, Melody is looking for some passion. She propositions Josh in the grocery store (SUCH a great scene!) and they dive head-first into hot and heavy sexy times that could easily set off fire alarms. Of course, along the way, they come to realize they might mean a little more to each other than just bedroom (and office and car and kitchen) fun. But, can they compromise and make things work, since they want different things out of life? I loved these characters so freaking much. Melody was easy to relate to and Josh was so sexy and swoony that I just couldn't get enough of him. Together? These two were golden. I loved how they played off each other. Opposites attract and they certainly did here. They were combustible.  My favorite scene in the book wasn't a sexy one, believe it or not. (Not that they weren't all smoking hot, a little out of the box and fantastic.) Instead, there was a great scene between Josh and Melody's nieces. It really showed the man underneath and is what really pushed the book to a five-star read for me. I love Brazen books for their length and steam factor, but I also love when authors go the extra mile and develop the characters and show us they're more than dirty-talkin' alpha men. This scene was so sweet and unexpected that I simultaneously melted and handed my bookish heart over to Josh on the spot. My ovaries might have exploded, too. It's not just this one scene that makes the book so special, though. There are a TON of fun, flirty, sexy and sweet scenes. The whole book had me either grinning from ear-to-ear or blushing. Or, you know, both.  Light Her Fire isn't my first Samanthe Beck novel, but it's definitely my new favorite. Everything about this book – the writing, the characters, the feelings it all invoked – was fantastic. I can't recommend it highly enough.  I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I really liked this book. Great main characters and just a great story line. The ending could have been better. Didnt like that the author left us hanging with if it was a boy or girl. But other than that, excellent romance with lots of hot and steamy parts. Would definitly recommend.

Taking us back to the town of Bluelick first introduced in Private Practice (book 1 of the series, and also a standalone novel), this is the story of Melody and Josh. When Josh moves to the town to take up the fire chief position, he knows it's only temporary, a way to move up in his career before taking over a big city fire station. Meeting Melody, the local doctor's assistant adds some fire to his nights as they engage in a no strings attached affair. Only, when the career opportunity that he's been waiting for comes up, will he be able to leave Melody and her town behind or has he found what he's been looking for all along? I really enjoyed this book and the re-acquaintance with characters from the first story in the series. The timeline for this story is concurrent with the first one, and it was interesting to see all the characters from the viewpoint of Melody and Josh. Melody's character was fun and friendly, evolving over the course of the story as she gains her feet again from the breakup of a ten year relationship and realizes that she has a lot to offer, to a man and for herself. I loved seeing her self confidence soar as Josh's attraction to her became obvious. I found Josh to be a handsome, determined and confident man. He's a bit of a playboy and he knows his worth but something about Melody strikes a chord in him that he doesn't expect and this worries him as his intention was never to stay in this small town. It was interesting to see his thoughts and feelings as the interactions with the townspeople changed his opinions about small town life. As for the love scenes - well, this author certainly knows how to write steamy scenes and this story is no exception to that! Lots of sexual tension between the characters from the beginning of the story leads to many hot hot scenes, but also with a depth of emotion that signifies the growing ties between the characters. Overall I found this to be another great story from the writing desk of Samanthe Beck, with a wonderful cast of characters, a little bit of intrigue in the plot, lots of steamy sex and a sweet happy ending. 4 stars! (P.S. I would love to see a story about Melody's ex Roger!)

Wow! This was a hot one! Melody just got out of a 10 year relationship and the whole town is saying that her fiance dumped her because she was too boring in bed. She has the reputation of being a good girl. Josh moved to the small town of Bluelick from Cincinnati to be the fire chief. He's sexy and has a dirty mouth. The sexual chemistry between these two was off-the-charts HOT! The steamy scenes in this book were smoking hot! My only complaint would be that I really didn't feel a real connection between these two characters until about 60% into the book. They obviously had great sexual chemistry but I would've liked a little more build up to their relationship and maybe a little more character development. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the other books in this series.

This book is wonderful and so fricking sexy a few scene's had me fanning myself it's that hot. If i had to use only two words to describe this book they would be SHOWER SCENE you'll know what i mean if you've read it. Melody and Josh definitely burn up the pages.  This is an excellent follow up to Private Practice here's hoping there's more books in this series.

Melody Merritt is trying to get her life back. Roger, her longtime fiancée, had broken their engagement. She doesn't want to always be the good girl. She wants to be sexually fulfilled. She knows that Fire Chief Josh Bradley is interested. That's perfect because she wants him in a carnal way. After a few frustrating attempts, they finally become lovers. Is a fling enough to satisfy both of them? I hope not. Melody and the Chief are such a fiery couple. I was caught in their passionate romance. Josh is an Alpha male who has to be in control. Melody wants him to be hers, but the small town life is not for him. He needs action. Things in this small town will never be the same. I liked the characters, the homey feel of Bluelick and the extremely sensual romance. The story was well plotted with some surprises that I didn't expect. Samanthe Beck knows how to do passion. Light Her Fire was a very erotic romance. This book is too hot to handle

First I have to say that I have loved every book by Samanthe Beck. Her men are always smoking hot, but Josh takes the cake. The man has a way with words that create such mouthwatering scenery. Oh he is smoking! Then there is Melody, who with all her quiet good girl innocence, can give as good as she gets. I absolutely loved the way they came together, the way they flirted, and ended up. It may have been a tad predictable with the who done it and how their ending may have concluded, but the ride in between was so worth it. Such an enjoyable, delicious read to the end. I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher.
