    Jensen, my favorite nixie!

Limerick is the second book in the trilogy and my favorite. This is novella-length, at roughly 55 pages, but, in my opinion, the length does not detract from the story. The story is full and the characters are fully formed.

There is far more action than romance in this book, but that fit with the direction of the story. I like that this book doesn't necessarily follow the "good vs. evil" formula of most fantasy. There is that theme, of course, but the lines aren't clearly drawn. There were times when those who were supposed to be "bad" were cast as "good" and vice versa. It kept the story interesting and the plot engaging. Definitely a little bit darker. Next up is Oathbound.

Solid Sequel! Can't wait for book 3~!

I really liked Spencer's first novella, "Shimmerspell," giving it 4.5 stars. But "Limerick" was just that much *better*. I cannot wait for novella 3! I have to know what happens! Limerick's got all the elements I liked: romantic tension, betrayal, mystery and the dialogue! I couldn't go four pages without laughing out loud, snickering, or at the very least a big grin. Spencer has a believable narrative voice and you can almost "hear" sassy Jensen giving her verbal, one-two punch. Love that!

Spencer picks up where she left off in Shimmerspell and the action ensues. Like Shimmerspell, this is a very-fast paced book. Since it is novella-length, that is something to get used to if you're accustomed to reading a full-length work. But I liked it. The reader feels dropped off in the middle and whisked away to get caught up with the MC. I like a book that rolls along and this one does. There's dragons and a new love interest developing, and we're still not sure about Jensen's potential. The author unveils this piece by piece as the story rockets along and we're left wondering about what Jensen will become and who she will be with? Who can she trust? Are they protecting her for the right reasons? The reasons she would want? I really enjoyed that element of intrigue. Totally fun read.

I hope this author does a full-length novel, it'd be tremendous!

Book 3 will come out soon and I've heard there may be a compilation of the trilogy into a paperback or eCopy format. With those book covers, that would be a great addition to the shelf!

Excellent Addition to a Sweet Series

Jensen has been left, alone and abandoned, with her newly found wizard father, Dermott. She's still a little lost without Lauren who seems to have vanished into thin air. Liam, her new faerie boyfriend, has been trying to keep her distracted, but Zoe's twin sister Shelby, wants her boyfriend back, and she'll do everything she can to break the tentative bond Liam and Jensen have built. Throw into the mix stalker dragon boys and a secret that Zoe hasn't shared, and Jensen's life is about to get real interesting. And on top of it all, Brennen has taken a real interest in her safety or lack of it.

Limerick by Kimberly Spencer is an excellent addition to her Faerie Tale Girl series. In this addition, Jensen finds her life turned upside down first by Shelby and Liam, then she overhears a conversation between Dermott and (she thinks) Lauren. Why would he lie and say he hasn't heard anything from her? Then, Brennen, the siren with the magical voice, keeps popping back into her life, and she sooo doesn't need him. And she's recently noticed stalkers, of the male variety, looking surprisingly a lot like dragons. A few weeks ago, the thought would seem ludicrous, now it is more than likely and alarmingly all too real. What is going to happen in her life next? Once again, I'm left hanging and wondering...

Limerick was a fast fun little read, just what I needed between books. It's novella length, and I'd recommend reading Shimmerspell first, it lays down the foundation for the series (click here to read my review). I had fun with this short story, and can't wait to take a peek at the next in the series, Lore, which is actually an inbetween story within Books 1 & 2. Triquetra, Book 3 in the Faerie Tale Girl series should be released sometime in September 2011. It's my opinion that Kimberly Spencer is an author to watch, I've fallen for her series. The only thing that could make it better is a tiny bit of editing, not that it really matters to the story. This is a sweet little YA paranormal romance that I'd recommend to all YA lovers, so much fun. Kimberly Spencer's books can be found at B&N, Amazon, and Smashwords. 5 out of 5 fairy kisses for this short little novella from this reader.

Great book and the story continues...

    *****Minor spoiler alert****
Fantastic job Ms. Spencer! I really enjoyed this book, the writing flowed beautifully. The story line picked up right where Shimmerspell left off. Things that weren't explained in Shimmerspell were revealed in Limerick. I think Ms. Spencer's writing has no other direction to go but up, I can't wait to read the next book in her "Faerie Tale Girl" series. I have to admit, I wasn't happy about the ending, the book just came to an abrupt halt. It had me looking for the next chapter. The ending left a lot of questions unanswered, but I have a feeling that is exactly what Ms. Spencer had in mind. I'm guessing that she is setting us up for the next book in this series. I also love that Ms. Spencer knows how to proof read, no typos, great editing job. I really admire her book covers too they are very appealing, whoever creates her book covers does exquisite work.

Great way to keep the story going

Just becaus she has now found out who she is doesn't mean shes out of danger, or that she knows all there is to know about herself or the world she comes from. Kept my attention the whole time!

Too short but a good read

Not unlike the first book, the writting style is an aquired taste. That been said, i still liked the story. I was however able to keep up better this time. Able to understand the transitions from one scene to the next. Love the twist and turns of the plot. You will too. Buy the book, its worth it.

    Enjoyable and Action Packed

Like many people who have read this book...too short, wanted MORE!! It looks like Jensen and Liam are item, but just when our favorite nixie gets a break, it's cut off by jaw-dropping excitement....At least that's how I'd describe getting attacked by a dragon in mid-date...lol...anyway, as in the worlds of faeries and the supernatural, nothing and no one are as they seem, namely Zoe (read to find out) and a few other characters....I have a tiny crush on Brennen, and I wonder what his connection with Bree is...another cliffhanger...must read more! 10/10!! (I read it in an hour...
