Overview

You'll have to learn to speak, to dress, to conduct yourself as a lady". Sebastian, the Earl of Moorland, icily intoned his orders to the cockney commoner who eyed him defiantly.

Fate had brought the saucy Jewel Combs far from her shivering, dockside existence to the mansion on Grosvenor Square. Now she was about to be renamed "Julia Stratham", in the Earl's outlandish stand against his domineering mother. His plan: to transform this diamond in the rough into a glittering gem worthy of the family name. But even as Jewel is swept up in all there is to know — and the critical gaze of her handsome patron — she unknowingly imparts a few lessons of her own. The Earl of Moorland is about to learn that although his "Julia" is no lady, she is all woman...and one with whom he can't resist falling madly, unexpectedly, and passionately in love.

Pickpocket, Jewel Combs, marries a dying aristocratic youth. The young widow undertakes the challenge of transforming herself to a lady of society.

    Not a big fan

This book wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. It was borderline abusive and the crap this woman tolerates is something no woman should have to put up with. Would have given this book 5 stars if it wasn't for that because everything else to me is alright.

A LITTLE ROUGH IN THE BEGINNING!!!

Set in 1841, England. The first two chapters are a little rough, but it definitely gets better after that. I've been enjoying Ms. Robard's stories. This is about my 7th book I've read of hers so far. This story is very passionate and exciting.

    RAGS TO RICHES

This book is almost every girls fantasy, rich and handsome boy comes into our lives and sweeps us off our feet to live happily ever after. I did like this book and strongly recommend it but at times I was a little disappointed that Jewel seemed to have lost some of her 'spunk' after falling in love. Sebastian can come across as cold and aloof but does redeem himself at the end.

    Don't miss it!

If you have in mind for a great love story, you gotta read this one. Ms. Robards is one of the best romantic authors out there. Every time you finished her stories, you feel very satisfied.
