I'm a longtime journalist and first-time novelist. I realized that I was a good writer when my college philosophy professor gave me an A+ on my final exam and commented, "I don't know if you know the material or can write really well."I started my career at TIME where I was involved with the magazine's Watergate coverage. I discovered the joy of reporting on government at its most basic at a Maine newspaper, for which I received an award from the New England Press Association. I love to travel and have visited Scotland several times. I'm at work on my second novel.

    Ratings are so very different here than on Goodreads or Amazon, perhaps because the description hasn't been changed to make it clear that this is a 12-page story, a prologue to the full-length novel, Legacy of the Highlands. I've submitted changes to the description, but it's still wrong!

    I know this is a free book and you shouldn't get your hopes up,

    I know this is a free book and you shouldn't get your hopes up, but seriously 20 pages? It was just starting to get into the plot of the story when it ended. Unreal, don't waste the space on your nook!
