Overview

Determined to take a picture of the elusive king, Brody easily sneaks inside the palace gate only to be met by one of the king’s servants. Brody not only has his dream fulfilled of seeing the king without his full body covering adornments, but he soon realizes that he will be playing a starring role in the king’s favorite ceremonial ritual.
------
It was dark now and Brody had gotten through the palatial gate by tunneling underneath it. He brushed himself off and slowly made his way to the palace which was very well lit amidst the darkness of the night. I wish they had bushes and trees and not just desert, Brody said to himself. I could at least hide a little. He was slowly inching his way toward the grand palace, occasionally dropping to the ground just in case movement was detectable from inside the palace walls. Brody was just going to take one photograph and then leave. If he could get to a window, he was sure that he could see the king somewhere inside the palace walls. Brody was about half way to the palace when a young man popped up out of nowhere, or so it seemed, and confronted him. “What are you doing here?” “Oh, I must have gotten lost,” lied Brody. “I’m Rafiq. Where were you trying to go?” Brody had no answer. He knew that he had been caught, and was desperately trying not to show fear.
-----
Brody had almost fallen asleep when the splash of water caused him to look up. Rafiq was back and he was wearing swim trunks, and he stepped into the bath with Brody. He moved closer to Brody and began to bathe him with some kind of exotic smelling oil. “Oh, that’s okay, Rafiq. I can do it.” Brody held Rafiq’s wrists in protest. The man from the doorway was now right behind him and he slapped Brody’s upper arm with some kind of whip. “Hey, watch it,” Brody snarled and rubbed his arm. The man ran the whip through his hand. “You must obey him, Brody,” Rafiq whispered.
