Overview

Lucy Merritt has always defined herself by her body, whether dancing in a small avant-garde company or posing for art. But she has always felt as if something is wrong with her, as if something is missing. She has never been in love.

Suddenly, in the darkness of the theater wings, a strangely affecting man enters her life. Matthew Norris, rich, handsome patron of the dance company, has decided that he wants Lucy for his own. He makes her an offer that both frightens and compels her, and they soon begin an affair characterized by only two requirements, beauty and truth.

But how truthful are Matthew and Lucy? How much of Matthew's strenuous brand of love can Lucy endure? And how long can their rigid Dom/sub relationship stay frozen in time, never growing, never moving forward?

Publishers Note: This novel contains explicit scenes of dominance and submission, discipline & training, bondage, group sex, oral sex, anal sex & double penetration, menage a trois, dubious consent, and both harsh and loving bdsm scenes.

Editorial Reviews

Jae of
Mercy is an outstanding BDSM story...a bit of a darker tale of love, lust and power. Both main characters, Matthew and Lucy, have been hurt at some point, and on some level are unaware of how that makes them act and respond with each other. It’s truly a powerful relationship to read about. If you haven’t taken the time to read a book by Annabel Joseph, you should certainly do so. If you like very intense BDSM, then start with Mercy, you won’t be disappointed.

    Blurred Lines...
So I finished this book a few days ago, and I've had time to sit with it.
I'd read mixed reviews on Goodreads and was somewhat reluctant to read it, but I'm really glad that I did!
This book is such a FANTASTIC work of art! Beautifully written. The way Annabel writes painted such a beautiful picture in my head. Great art should always evoke strong feelings, and this book did just that for me.
This will DEFINITELY make you question...how far is too far? If you're not sure if you should read it based on the mixed reviews, I say read it for yourself!

Too much drama for it's own good.

Reads like a novel about a dancer's insecurities with a sub/dom subtext. Lots of emotional drama, but the "action" leaves the reader uninspired.

I loved both books. Goes deeper than some of the books I've read. I laughed...cringed.....and cried.

I really liked this book. I think that the author writes really intelligently, and there is a real story here. If you love just straight porn...this is not for you. The scenes are hot, and I will probably read it again at some point.

    Hated it

I can't finish this book. Matthew is so awful to Lucy, I can't enjoy the book at all. I would give it NO stars if I could.

    Annoying

I did not like this book. The hero and the heroine are both very damaged. They need therapy. I have experience in the world of BDSM and this was not a healthy D\s relationship. She seemed desperate and sad and he was mean. I didn't understand her best friend in the end encouraging her to go back to that relationship when his friend was so obviously damaged. They both needed therapy before coming back together. Like most of these stories after falling in love, then bed 2 days after meeting followed by couple weeks of kinky sex, the possessive, damaged alpha male is saved by our martyr heroine's submission. I know there might be a smidge more to these characters but not much.
