Meet the Author

Hi! I'm John, an Advertising Account Planner in Toronto.

By day, I spend my time looking for the “big idea” to use in my next great advertising campaign. By night, however, you'll find me in a coffee shop or at the running track, brainstorming the “big idea” to use in my next great story.

My favourite aspect about writing isn't the writing itself, but the storytelling. I believe that the key to a great story is an over-arching concept - a theme - that drives the flow of the narrative and the conflict of its characters. I'm particularly intrigued by the idea of using archetypes (universal ideas, characters, and story arcs) to make my stories more impactful.

I'm a huge fan of dystopian science-fiction, and I'm currently working on my own contribution to the genre: a short story collection called "In-Futura" ( In the future... ). Each tale features a strange vision of the future: a world in which fashion and technology have merged into one, a world in which hunting and gathering en masse is all the rage, a world in which corporations control the weather... you get the picture.
