My Troubles With Time

An inept physics professor in his mid-thirties, still a virgin, travels back to December 1941. He plans to become a national hero by destroying the Japanese fleet which bombed Pearl Harbor. Overcoming vast difficulties he succeeds, only to be sentenced to death by a U.S. Navy Courtmartial for mistakenly sinking the Japanese vessels prior to their attack. His claims to have invented a time machine are ridiculed. However, thanks to the vagaries of time travel, he escapes and returns to the present, no longer a virgin and greatly improved.
