Overview

Since it was written by the "mad Arab" Abdul Alhazred in the eighth century, the fabled Necronomicon has been a source of dread. But the mighty powers invoked by this eldritch tome are really long-forgotten psychic abilities from the depths of the human soul, forces of Darkness and Light, able to affect the most basic needs and desires, including Love, Wealth, Peace of Mind, and Protection Against Enemies. Many have found Necronomicon's arcane language, eerie instructions, and confusing diagrams too daunting and overwhelming for practical use. But now comes a guide that enables anyone to pick up the book and use its ineluctable power "without fear or risk," according to editor Simon -- though great care must always be taken when harnessing primal forces and attaining intimate communication with nature, the heavens, and the kingdom of beasts. The time for sorrow, fear, doubt and confusion is over. Prepare to become your own master, with the legendary magick of ancient mystics.

Meet the Author

Simon is a student of magic, occultism, and religion since the mid-1960s and the editor of the Necronomicon, Simon was a frequent lecturer for the famed Warlock Shop in Brooklyn and the Magickal Childe Bookstore in Manhattan for more than ten years before his sudden disappearance in 1984, speaking on topics as diverse as religion and politics, occultism and fascism, ceremonial magic, demonolatry, the Tarot, the Qabala, and Asian occult systems. He also conducted private classes for the New York City OTO during this period, with a focus on Enochian magic, "Owandering bishops," and Afro-Caribbean occult beliefs. An ordained priest of an Eastern Orthodox church, Simon has appeared on television and radio discussing such topics as exorcism, satanism, and Nazism. The media events he organized in the 1970s and 1980s — with rock bands, ritual performances, and celebrity appearances — helped to promote the "occult renaissance" in New York City. After decades of study in European, Asian, and Latin American cult centers, this book marks his first public appearance in more than twenty years.

Protected within the circle-----a door is opened

I read the Necronomicon some years ago dabbling in it's Magik. The incantations I read in haste only to have my mind devoured by it's power. This book is real! The madness is real! Please fully understand the spirits you are invoking and know beforehand what you ask of them. DO NOT just read the spells outside the circle for you will release them unto the world through yourself. Know your protection symbols within the circle and use them correctly. I have invoked all powers of the Earth and I am very close to releasing him that we should not name. Marduk, keeper of the Eastern gate, do not mess with him for he is the root of the madness within! Both Jimmy Page and Ozzy Osbourne have used this Magik and as you know, it works! I think Ozzy messed up a little with his, his mind is going fast!

    Quick easy way to spellcraft

I've read all of the editor's books on the matter of the Necronomicon and this one seems the most practical for the inexperianced or just curious. Haven't tried any of the spells myself but they seem quite workable. Perhaps a background in the Necronomicon would help to understand the exact details of what could happen while using this book. I've found it not quite as threatening though and enjoyable to quickly read and understand.

    Be Carefull with This Book

I tried the spell of fire to work on someone else and it backfired and I almost burned my kitchen down. Right after I recited the words my stove caught on fire. Just be careful when you use it

I have on thing to say to all of you who think....

For those of you who think that a book is going to help you cast spells. You are wrong. The theory of magik from books is mostly correct, but the magik comes from yourself. No writings in a book can tell you how to cast a spell. The spells that are recorded are those of sorcerers who made the spells for themselves. A spell is just notes to help them remember and cast the spell again. Find your own spark of magik in you.

    exactly

i agree with the one above, i just went to a reading of a couple of lovecrafts books and the necronomicon was one of the display items. right off, even though i knew this, the reader told everyone that the necronomicon was a book that was completely made up and mentioned in a few of lovecrafts books. publishing company's then made copy's of it for the sole purpose of making a few bucks off of really gullible people, it can't really summon a portal beond space and time, or anything like that, it's a book, get over it.

    The REAL Necronomicon...

The real Necronomicon is actually a collection of burial rights and such from Egyptian writings. However, this book is actually pretty good. I read it and found it a tad amusing. No, I don't try to cast any spells with it.
