Overview

At 40 yrs old, and reeling from a long overdue divorce, Chloe Zanders has few illusions left about her life. She has definitely decided that she is never going to be thin like she wants, never going to be a famous singer like Taylor and Emma want, and never going to be good enough to keep a man like her handsome ex-football player husband from cheating. Really after the latest twenty-something Aaron was seen with around town, divorcing him was a relief because it meant she could stop trying to save a relationship not worth saving. She’s still not even sure why she stayed so long. It wasn’t like her to be anyone’s doormat. Chloe well knows she deserves more from love than her ex ever gave her. She vows that next time around, she is going to find someone who will love her just as she is. Of course, that’s easier to say than to do.

Letting distance help her put the sad New England years and the divorce behind her, Chloe returns to Laguna Nigel and sunny California, happy to be living closer to her college roommates slash best friends in the world again. Celebrating her return with a long spa weekend at the five star rated Blue Skies Hotel seems like just the thing she needs to jump start her “do over” life. How much she ends up liking the hotel’s sexy, 45 yr owner/manager, Jasper Wade, is a surprise, and so is the way his kisses send hope, lust, and a renewed sense of adventure singing through her. What she feels is way too fast, and way too much too soon, but how can a woman turn away from a man who treats her like she’s his every fantasy come true?

Meet the Author

After 35 years of doing everything for a living except writing books, Donna McDonald finally published her first romance novel in March of 2011. Ten novels later, she is now living her own “happily ever after” life as a modestly successful author who gives back to the universe by doing her best to keep several Lexington, Kentucky coffee shops in business.

McDonald dreams of selling her house and taking to the open road to seek adventure once she figures out how to do so without her children and grandchildren finding out. For the time being, she continues to live contentedly with her permanent fiancée of many years who helps her sneak away from real life as often as he can. She loves him dearly for it.

    Donna Mcdonald does it again.

I absolutly fell in love with her work with the Never Too Late series. The book 'Next Song I Sing' also happens to be a great read and start for her next series. I can't wait for book 2.

Wonderful, funny, sexy, fun, inspiring. Donna McDonald writes about "older" women ( is 40 really considered older?) but those of us who are "younger" love her books just as much. I am 31 and have read everything except her Forced to Serve series and I don't have the words to tell you what a great writer she is, this is something you have to experience yourself to fully understand. If you do one thing for yourself today buy one of Donna's books- you will thank yourself and her afterwards. I can't wait for more of her books to come out- my husband knows it means I won't sleep that night since I just can't seem to put any of these books down and am even reading them over (something I have never been able to do before).
