Overview

Cicely Waters had always thought she was simply one of the magic-born---a witch who can control the wind---but recently she discovered she's also one of the shifting Fae. Now she must perfect her gift. Because Cicely and her friends may have escaped from Myst and her Shadow Hunters, but Myst has managed to capture the Fae prince who holds Cicely's heart.

Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
Galenorn continues the Indigo Court series (launched with Night Myst) with this muddled quest story. Wind witch Cicely Waters feverishly endures erotic bloodsuckings from "good" (or is he?) vampire Grieve, the soul mate Cicely is trying to free from the clutches of fae queen Myst, and "bad" (or is he?) vampire Lannan Altos. Cicely is also the fulcrum in the predictable battle between Myst and Geoffrey, another powerful "good" vampire. Veteran paranormal romance author Galenorn can create respectably colorful fantasy settings like the exotic Court of Dreams, but howlers like Lannan calling Cicely a "lovely young juice box" somewhat diminish their dramatic power. Even Galenorn's helpful dramatis personae and playlist of presumably inspirational recordings can't save this effort from lurid banality. (July)

    I Also Recommend:

Ominous and Eerie And All Around Fantastic Read!

I strongly suggest you read the previous books in the series (Night Myst) prior to reading this installment. This was a fantastic follow-up sequel that was even better than the first book. This story had a creepy and frightening vibe to it; especially the creatures who hunt and prowl the dark forest/woods preying upon the magic-born, fellow-immortals and humanity. The author created a well-plotted storyline of a bloodthirsty and cannibalistic empire, slowly but surely raising into power, wielding their dark and frightening dominance over earth in a reign of bloody-terror of biblical proportions. Cicely is metamorphosing into a deadly solider who embraces her power and is unafraid of her transformation. I enjoyed this installment and was transfixed to this brilliant story; which moved quickly and smoothly. There was plenty of action and violence and very little sex. I judge most books on pure entertainment factor and this book completely entranced me and left me wanting more! I can¿t wait for the next book Night Seeker due out 7/3/12 and I highly recommend this book to fellow dark urban fantasy readers.

    A good read.

It took me a while to remember the other book but then I caught up. I thought it was pretty good even thought it seemed like everyone and their brother wants to sleep with her. Still liked it though.

    Loved It!

Allies are lost but new paths are made. I love the adventures that Cicely and the gang went on in this book and that we got a chance to see more of her as her owl self. Now that Grieve is back I hope Cicely's love life will heat up :)

A great up and coming series. A must read!

If you are new to the Yasmine Galenorn "Indigo Court" series, this is a must read and a must follow. From the Elemental to Vampire. Full of excitement, love, passion, greed, arrogance, fear, humor and thrill. This book was a non-stop read. Yasmine Galenorn has the ability to "enchant" and keep you coming back for more. I look forward to a great deal many more books about Cicely, her companions and Myst. Night Veil is well versed and starts right back up where book one "Night Myst" ended. The final scene of each book always ends with the reader wanting for more.

The latest Night at the Indigo Court fantasy (see Night Myst) is an engaging thriller

Wind witch Cecily Waters returns home where she learns she has the skill of shapeshifting just like the Fae do. However, she has little time to practice her new talent as the Indigo Court Fae Queen Myst has incarcerated her soul mate Fae Prince Grieve.

To rescue her beloved, Cecily needs a mentor to teach her how to maximize her new found abilities. Fae Lannan Altos offers to train her in shapeshifting for an exorbitant biting fee that Cecily accepts. As she begins her rescue attempt, Geoffry the Fae confronts Queen Myst.

The latest Night at the Indigo Court fantasy (see Night Myst) is an engaging thriller as Yasmine Galenorn affirms she is one of the best at Otherworld environs. The story line is fast-paced from the first nibble to the climatic last bite. Although none of the characters are likable including the lead wind witch as everyone has an avaricious agenda and they mostly obsesses how to obtain the juicy nectar of life; even courageous Cecily fixates on whatever it takes to rescue her mate. Still fans will relish a trip to Indigo Court as Ms. Galenorn continues lifting the Night Veil.
