A deadly crash changes the fate of one lonely vampire.
Brotherhood of Blood, Book 1
Vampire enforcer Atticus Maxwell stands at the edge of his own oblivion…until the faint heartbeat of a desperately wounded mortal woman calls him back. The terrible crash that almost took both their lives has brought him a charming, intriguing woman who just might give him a reason to live again.
Lissa was headed for a conference at a resort in a last-ditch attempt to find a job. Instead, on a rain-slick mountain road that almost killed her, she finds the love of her life. A love with the most eligible, reclusive vineyard owner in Napa Valley—one that isn’t quite human.
No barrier—not even breaking the news to Lissa’s friends—seems too great to hold back their blossoming love. Until they learn the accident that brought them together wasn’t an accident at all, but a murder attempt by an unknown enemy.
Atticus saved Lissa once. Can he keep her that way in the face of a renewed threat?
This book has been previously published and has been substantially revised and expanded from its original release.

i purchased this book knowing it was short. no problem with that, but it wasn't well written at all. they meet, they mate, and they fall in love all within the first chapter if not the first couple of pages. after that...the book just kinda died. the storyline was not well thought out. it just didn't make no sense at all! none of the characters were worth following in the book and nothing added up. it was like she just pulled a bunch of really short thoughts outta her head and put them into a really short book. i would not recommend this book.

Lissa decided to ignore her queer feelings about getting on the hotel shuttle. She needed to find another position, and it was the only way to make it to the job conference. What follows next is a near death experience that changes her life forever when a gorgeous vineyard owner rescues her.
Atticus Maxwell is a vampire enforcer who's lived for centuries, yearning and hoping for the One to bring meaning to his life. Meeting Lissa knocks him out of his ennui once he's awakened to an all encompassing love. Could she be the One he's searched for? Once it's learned that the accident was no accident, Atticus does everything in his power to ensure that Lissa stays alive long enough for them to explore all the possibilities.
Most of the vampire novels I tend to steer towards are usually dark, violent, brutal and brimming with lurid sex (think JR Ward), which makes them not quite as emotionally romantic as One and Only. This delightfully sweet paranormal romance carried an "R in Romantic" timeless vibe. Sure the sex is sensual, at times even naughty, but the amiable warmth here is old school. It's not in the bodice ripper class; there's definitely violin and piano music serenading reader heartstrings.
Atticus is noble and honorable with that air of Byronic tragedy that makes him vulnerable without being a stuffy wimp. When he opens his heart and life to the equally lonely and engaging Lissa, I was so glad they finally found one another. There's a tender thread throughout that works well with themes of friendship, loyalty, and hope, as well as the continuing battle of good vs. evil. All in all, I was left with a pleasant feeling, which means I'd like to see where this series goes. Bianca D'Arc does well setting everything up for the next series installment, and I'm positive that she'll more than deliver on it. If that doesn't convince you, take a look at the mesmerizing delectable cover.
Don’t get this if you’re looking for a long leisurely read, yes it is short but very detailed and it sets the next book up. If you do your research as I do before buying a book, you see that this is a novella. The first three books are; the next is 400+ pages.

With the lure of romance and fantasy, I expected more than this disappointing, nearly plotless excuse for graphic sex.

Okay so the title says it all. The book seems rushed, you can see it has great potential to develop into a great book. Also can't stress this enough its a really short read. :/

Was not worth the time or money. Felt like the author had an hour to write a story and this was all she could come up with. Had the possibility to be a good story but was way too rushed.

It starts to introduce you to the circle of old college friends and the circle of super hot bloodletters. It may not have been my favorite one, but I still loved every minute of it.
