This book is told from the point of view of Morgan's ancestor, Rose MacEwan as she was falling in love with a man named Diamuid, and though I like the Sweep series very much, the last five books in the series didn't cut it because they jump around to different characters' POVs. But, this also allows for information that the main character doesn't have so it creates an interesting plot-line.

Okay, so this is where I stopped. Personally I think the series should have just ended with the ninth book, but the author didn't seem to agree with me. The series was great, not everything in there about the wiccan religion was right, but this is a fictional book. I just think that the series didn't need to go on as long as it did. Kind of killed the series..

This book is also not being told by Morgan but by one of her ancestors Rose MacEwan who lived in the times of the witch trials. Hunter is back from Canada and has brought a book back telling about Rose and that she is the first to bring the ¿ dark wave ¿. The story is about Rose and her finding her soul mate Diarmuid. And about all there hardships because of them being from two different covens. But Diarmuid completely betrays her and leaves her to be hung the night before in her prison cell. So she summons the Goddess and creates a dark wave to kill Diarmuid and her persecutors ( she ends up killing pretty much everyone in his coven and village ). I noticed a couple of odd similarities between Morgan and Rose. The first is that Cal and Diarmuid have quite a couple of things in common. Cal leaving Morgan to die in a locked room, Diarmuid leaving Rose in a locked room to die the next day. Rose starts to use black magic to save herself then to get revenge on people that have wronged her. Morgan uses little black magic here and there and also to get revenge on people that have wronged her and her friends.

When Hunter comes back from Canada he comes with a book that belonged to one of Morgans ancestors. The book is read to us by Morgan and Hunter. It explains how and why the dark wave was started.

The author grabs you from book 1, pulls you in and just keeps on going until the last book. The characters are easy to relate to and every one of the books has twists and turns in them that at first you think you have figured out only to find out that you are wrong and they end even better than you expect. Cate Tiernan is an excellent author Nd I can't wait to read her other series Balefire. This is a definate read that will keep you on your toes until the end.

This is by far my favorite book in the series even though the later books are also good (have them all with the original covers although the new ones are really nifty)

I'm a big fan of historical stories and when I read the 11th book bt cate tiernan I felt swept away. The passion, love , loyaly, anger but most of all saddness towards the end. I recommed to the sweep series fan who have not read the 11th book that you will love reading this one, and if you love reading historical romances then this a good book for you. enjoy!!!!!
