    When compentence doesn't matter

    It is an extraordinary book that tells an extraordinary story of an extraordinary man. And that tell us about the end and the destruction of Germany from inside. Many lessons can be learn from this book: 1) the value of competence, that is the value of the author, 2) the value of innovation, that is the introducion of armoured mobile force in warfare, 3) the social mechanism of organization, i.e. the functioning of german Army during 2WW, 4) a first hand insight of the Nazi state and of the personality of its leaders, 5) the causes of the destrucion of Germany during 2WW. Eventually, a book that can tell the reader a lot of different stories.

    Excellent excellent excellent!!!

    This book tells it how it is. From a German's perspective, it goes down to the very last detail of what happens in a situation and why it happens. Guderian was a completely sane person and was NOT a brainwashed nazi officer like most others were in the high command. In the beginning, he predicts everything that would happen from the war with the western powers, to the 2 front war, to the lack of supplies and materials, to the collapse of the third reich. He quotes conversations directly with Hitler and himself and tells how Hitler admits Guderian's correctness in the beginning and his regret of not listening to him when it could have made a world a difference. If you're a WW2 fanatic such as I, this book is one you will enjoy very much.
