Overview

On the heels of the phenomenal success of The Primal Blueprint Cookbook, and in response to the growing demand for healthy meals that can be made with minimal time and effort, Quick & Easy Meals delivers over 100 mouth-watering recipes with easy-to-follow instructions that will get you in and out of the kitchen in 30-minutes or less. Now the dream of eating satisfying meals—even with little time to spare—controlling weight and feeling great has become a reality. Make your transition to Primal eating easy and fun with this innovative cookbook from Primal Blueprint author Mark Sisson, and acclaimed chef/food writer/photographer Jennifer Meier. With 300 brilliant, glossy, full-color photographs and dozens of Quick & Easy Tips throughout the book you'll see how delicious and simple to prepare Primal dishes can be. Save time with intuitive recipe steps, easy navigation, and great visual support. You'll find recipes for every traditional meal time — Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Appetizers and Snacks — and recipes for Sauces, Toppings and Rubs, which effortlessly turn bland salads, meats and hors d'ouevres into unique culinary creations. And with the Time in the Kitchen listed for each recipe you'll know exactly what to expect, be it 30 minutes or five. As detailed in The Primal Blueprint, losing excess body fat is all about insulin. Regulate insulin production by eliminating grains and sugars and you will lose weight, even if you don't exercise much or are cursed with the fat gene. Quick & Easy Meals makes this easier than ever, showing you how to transition from the great American grain-based diet to a Primal Blueprint diet featuring meat, seafood, fowl, vegetables, fruits, nuts, and seeds. Each recipe has a naturally low glycemic impact and comes with a complete macronutrient profile, so you know exactly what you're putting in your body - no guesswork required. As you build momentum for Primal eating, you'll find that you won't even miss the boring, low-fat, high-carb foods that previously were the central focus of your diet. And no matter your experience in the kitchen you'll learn how to prepare delectable dishes like Bacon Souffle Frittata, Dill and Caper Salmon Burgers and Chorizo and Almond-Crusted Halibut. This isn't a crash course diet, and this won't be a cookbook that collects dust on your bookshelf. These and other Primal recipes provide the foundation for a lifetime of healthy eating that you'll eagerly come back to again and again.

Can't see the other ratings; but they don't look good. Makes me thing someone is just trying to spoil anothers success. This book is just like the first one written by this couple. Fabulous! Yes, it's the pictures. I will not buy a cookbook without pictures anymore. Who has time to sit and read all those recipes? Just show me the picture and I'll know if I like it. This book does it so well! You will see pictures of the steps to make the recipe as well as the finsihed product. And the recipes are wonderful; just the right amount of main meals to deserts. I love this cookbook!

This book, and eating style are excellent. I've been eating this way, without recipes for 1 month and lost 15 lbs and feel great, not hungry or grouchy at all. I highly recommend these books by Sisson, especially the cook books. Read the paperback book first to understand what you are doing. People will come to you and ask what I'm doing to lose weight, because the weight loss is noticeable. If you've read the paperback, you have the answers to all their curious-interested questions, and sometimes condemning-ignorant questions, too. Referring to the "Standard American Diet" as SAD usually gets a laugh. If you are the type of person who doesn't care about they "why" just the "how" then you can get away with the cookbooks & some additional creativity on your part & maybe supplement with an internet search for specific item recipes. But be ready for curious people who knew you before asking you after how you are getting into shape. My one complaint about this book is that the print in the cookbook can cause some miserable COOKing and Food Prep FAILS...if you are not paying close attention. In a list of ingredients, these two words - tablespoon and teaspoon look so similar, usually, but the typefaces of these words in these two books, make the tablespoon and teaspoon EXTRA SIMILAR. The typeface does not use a Capital T for Tablespoon. It is very easy to mistakenly add too much or not enough of a particular ingredient. I speak from experience with this mistake, and I am a great reader & good recipe follower. It is the typeface & lack of Capital T, for Tablespoon, that I normally rely on in every other cook book or recipe I own or use. My solution - I used a little pen to put capital "T" on all the tablespoons, turning them into Tablespoon. This way it looks more like we were taught in school & every other recipe on the planet: tablespoon teaspoon teaspoon tablespoon tablespoon vs. Tablespoon teaspoon teaspoon Tablespoon Tablespoon If you have good eyesight and never make this error, then the cookbooks by Sisson are without fail - yum yum yum recipes. Go for it. Highly recommend. If you do have a tendency to be in a kitchen with less than ideal writing, have to look at recipes from farther away that you'd read a book, or are just glancing back and forth with the recipe - then mark the Tablespoons. Else you will have some funky tasting and cooking stuff sometimes.

This is my second Primal Blueprint Cookbook, and I love it. The recipes are simple and very tasty! Wait until you try the Spaghetti Squash Omelet or the Turkish Eggs! YUM! Will be sending a copy of this cookbook to my daughter for her birthday. LOVE IT!
