Stellar advice and an easy read!

Jan Yager's new book "Productive Relationships" is a definite winner. There is a conversational tone that causes the reader to feel that Dr. Yager genuinely cares about his or her well-being at work and beyond; she is professional yet warm, a mentor within the covers of a book. From 57 applicable strategies to making work relationships productive, one can choose which strategies to immediately adopt and which ones to come back to later. The many personal stories included in this book also provide an inside perspective on so many of the "types" you may encounter in the workplace especially vampire bosses and even the loneliness of CEO's. Reading "Productive Relationships" made me stop and realize that, yes, even bosses are human; and so their feelings are just as legitimate as yours. The overall message of this excellent book is that everyone you do business with deserves respect, and that it is necessary to cooperate with others while also remaining confident of your own abilities. Stellar advice and an easy read!

Productive Relationships is the key to a satisfying professional environment and a boundless professional future

Productive Relationships is one of the most useful business advice books out there. The strategies provided by Dr. Jan Yager, an experienced entrepreneur and sociologist, are extremely helpful to all readers, whether experienced in their fields or just entering the world of business. With expertise and finesse, Dr. Yager walks the reader through different hurdles that can occur in the work place, such as personality types that may make forming productive relationships challenging, communicating with more proficiency, becoming a team player, conflict management and conflict competent organization. The author provides easy to follow tips that come from years of experience and study that will yield positive results to whomever reads and adheres to the advice found in this book. The strategy I found most helpful to me personally is Strategy number 16, 'Going from "Me" to "We": Becoming more of a team player.' When working, I have always tended to rely on just myself and found difficulty in accepting different viewpoints. The advice contained in this useful book assisted me in opening myself up more to the opinions of others and to work better in a team. Productive Relationships is the key to a satisfying professional environment and a boundless professional future.
