    LOVED Cougar

    Yum. Cougar is an ultimate alpha male yet very gentle with his woman. The sex is very graphic but the underlying love story is awesome. Wish I had a Cougar.

    A DEFINITE KEEPER!

    Another HOT historical romance from Sarah McCarty! Sarah's writing pulls you in from the first page and refuses to let go till the last! Cougar McKinnely promises Mara Kincaid he's going to make everything alright, Mara tries to make him forget it. But Cougar always keeps his promises. Promises Keep is the second book in Sarah McCarty's 'Promises' series,while you can read this as a stand alone,you also get a glimpse of Asa and Elizabeth from Promises Linger.After reading this one you'll be anxiously waiting for the next 'Promises' book,Clint's story in Promises Prevail. You can't stop at reading just one!

    Ms. McCarty does it again!!

    Another superbly written story by Sarah McCarty! Cougar and Mara get together under less than honorable circumstances, but find a way to make things work despite all the obstacles standing in their way. PROMISES KEEP is a wonderful, spell-binding story that will have you turning page after page in anticipation of what comes next. I am a HUGE fan of Ms. McCarty's work as she always pulls me into her stories with her meticulously woven characterization. I am anxiously awaiting the next installment in the 'Promises' series.

    Hotter than the Old West in the deep summer!!!!

    In PROMISES KEEP,Sarah McCarty writes a very emotional tale that captures your attention from Page 1. I felt every emotion Cougar and Mara were going through. PROMISES KEEP wrangles you into the old west that was 1869 Wyoming. Cougar and Mara are well fleshed out characters and Cougar is one of those rare heroes, especially for those times. Cougar is willing to do whatever it takes to convince Mara that she is the only woman for him and his forever, sigh. Cougar wants Mara the old fashioned way; he wants to earn it. Mara is an innocent, but she's a fighter and she definitely gives Cougar a run for his money. When Cougar and Mara do get together, you better have the AC on for their passion is as intense as the story itself. Learning to trust herself and trust Cougar is something that Mara must do for these two to once and for all accept that the love that is being given, is true love indeed. The secondary characters in PROMISES KEEP not only add immensely to the story, they play a big part in helping Cougar and Mara find the path of togetherness. We first met Cougar in PROMISES LINGER, the prequel to PROMISES KEEP. We are treated to see what is happening with Asa and Elizabeth from PROMISES LINGER, as well as many others, especially Cougar's friend, Clint. Clint's story, PROMISES PREVAIL, is next in the continuing saga of Sarah McCarty's men of the west and the women who love them.

    erotic and hot but...

    first let me say this was a great story but with two glaring flaws the setting is this cougar mckinnley is an adopted half indian who's in mourning for his fiance who died due to her own bigotry and stupidity good riddance I say he is at a bordello trying to forget but is impotent so the madame sends him up to see her new addition mara kinciad who as it turns out has been drugged and is oblivious sold by her own father she is abused by the madame and her henchmen flaw number one cougar rapes her unaware that she is not acting and discovers she is a virgin now what kind of premise is that to start a relationship on she does not remember of course after the madame and her flunky are dispatched one of my favorite scenes her by mara and him castrated and killed by cougar they escape I love how patient he is with her gentle and loving showing her what real love is all about with positive reinforcement but he is a demanding control freak and she is headstrong flaw number two she takesup the cause of women's sufferage which did not breach our shores until decades later wish fufillment on sarah's part asa and elizabeth are also in the story which is nice but in my opinion the love scenes are much better in this book more anal erotism including salad tossing I love this story even cougars parents are a delight several great characters I cant wiat to read the next book highly reccomended I would have given it two stars except for the rape aspect

    Got to READ

    I absolutely love this book. I love the whole series. This book has the hotest scenes and will make you laugh so hard. I love Cougars wife Mara she soes the funniest stuff to him. The man sounds so yummy. everybody could use a man like him.

    My favorite

    This was my favorite of all the books but all the other books were great. Cougar is amazinf and the story had romance, drama,suspense, an dmuch more about 500 pages approx

    She writes some of the best books.

    I love reading anything by this writer. Her books have strong sense of right and wrong. Family is always an important link to the main person. If you read one you will want to read all her books

    GREAT BOOK!!! ONCE YOU START READING IT YOU WILL NOT WANT TO PUT IT DOWN!!!

    This is a great book for anyone who loves romance. Once I started reading Promises Keep I didn't want to put it down. Sarah MCCarty did a great job on writing this book and I would definitely recommend reading the other books in this series.

    I really loved parts of this book. I loved the the strength of Mara character and the tragic way her and Couger meet. However is it just me or did some parts of this story drag on? Overall nice read, just not my favorite from this amazing author.

    Aggravating Read...

    I like Sarah McCarty, and most of her books. But as I'm reading this one, it's irritating how fragile, yet strong-willed she makes Mara (main female character), while making Cougar (main male character) the uber-alpha male. I mean, c'mon...really? It's great that Mara can keep her chin up with all of the horrible hands life has dealt her, but how can she survive out in the wild territories, unless she has her "big, strong man" to hold her hand? It's fine as books go, but make me believe this one, Sarah; make me believe in Mara.

    hmm..

    ok so i haven't read this book yet..i ordered it online and its due to arrive tomorrow..but its very reminiscent of this other book i've read called redeeming love. i'm thinking this book has like wild sex scenes, which redeeming love does not, but its the same basic principle, with the brothel and the setting and the characters. the leading male character even called the leading female character mara for a while. but anyway if this is anything like that its gonna be great. i'm really looking forward to it.
