Editorial Reviews

Candy Beuchamp
The end of the second book in this series, EQUILIBRIUM (Portal Chronicles Book Two), leaves us with quite a cliff hanger. I've been not-so-patiently waiting on the third book to come out. I have major instant gratification problems, so either the author took pity on me or I moaned and groaned enough in public forums that she sent me an Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of Quantum just to shut me up. Either way, I was excited to find out what happened next. I'm a 30(mumble) year old woman, but I ...

    Best of the Series

If you are a fan of the first two books in this series, you will not be disappointed.
I read PORTAL (Portal Chronicles) and then couldn't wait to get EQUILIBRIUM (Portal Chronicles Book Two). Now, after much anticipation, I could finally catch up on what was happening with Arizona, Simla, Justin, David and the Wanderers.
This is the best of the trilogy and it is written with the same amazing talent that Ms. Rose has given us in the other books.

You will need to get a glass of tea, spread a blanket over your lap and sink down in your coziest seat. Once you start reading Quantum, you will not want to stop.

Got sucked in, kinda wish i didn't.

When i started reading Portal i got sucked in and i couldn't stop reading. They are good books but can get a bit confusing. Also i don't like how when the story is being told from Arizona's point of view, its in first person. But when its being told from someone else's point of view, its in 3rd person. That got kind of annoying. Don't get me wrong, i do enjoy the books but somethings, like the dog wanderers is just too much. As soon as i read that i was like really?, this is stupid. Completely ridiculous.

    Recommended, but not great.

I just finished reading the third book in this Portal series. Although, I enjoy the topic of time travel and of inter-dimensional beings, I thought the introduction of dog wanderers was a little much. There were times when I was really starting to get into the book when the author (Rose) gets a little too ridiculous with her plot and character development. Having said that, I will buy the next book in the series just to find out how it all ends.

WOW, Imogen Rose does it again!

I am a NOT so young adult but I still love this YA series. I picked up PORTAL (Portal Chronicles), the first in her series because of a lot of chatter on the forums. It sat in my TBR pile and kept hearing about it so I read it. I am so glad I did. Immediately after finishing, I went and 1 clicked EQUILIBRIUM (Portal Chronicles Book Two) and finished it in a day. I have been anxiously waiting for Quantum to get here so I could find out what happened!!! I don't want to give anything away, but book 2 left you wandering about some things! Imogen Rose answered all the questions from book 2, but managed to leave you wanting more from Quantum and of course some more unanswered questions. I usually think as a series continues, it gets stale and redundant, but not with this series. Each book has been fresh and exciting, and she still manages to develop the characters and leaves you wanting to read more. Imogen Rose, you have a winner here, CONGRATULATIONS! I loved Quantum and I am loving this series! Keep writing, I need the next book!!!

The story line is engaging and Quantum has a few added twists and turns - LOVE IT!!
Can't wait for the next book in this series! I love the way the author adds details to
the story, makes it feel more personal, like the book was written just for me :).

    Imogen Rose Never Disappoints!

After reading the second book in the portal series titled Equilibrium, I have been anxiously awaiting the release of Quantum. Luckily Imogen decided to send me an ARC of Quantum to review, so I didn't have to wait quite as long as I had expected... so thank you Imogen!

Quantum, just like the other two books (Portal and Equilibrium) does not disappoint! From page one it hooked me... and there was no sense in attempting to put it down... it just wasn't going to happen! I love reading about Arizona and her adventures between worlds! She is a strong and independent character that counts on herself before anyone else.

There are great other characters as well, all the characters are well developed, and each have their own story as to how they know Arizona, and how her life interacts with theirs. In each book we slowly see Arizona and her friends mature more with age. They still have teenage problems, but they have issues that are true to the characters age. I think that is very important, it makes Quantum feel a lot more real. Neither the supporting roles or Arizona are like stereotypical teenagers referred to in books, they aren't jealous, malicious, or just plain annoying... I actually enjoy spending time with these ones.

Just like at the end of Portal and Equilibrium I will be anticipating the release of the next and final book in the Portal Chronicles series. To say that they are amazing and a great read is putting it mildly. From book one, you don't want to stop reading until you have made your way through Portal, Equilibrium and Quantum. It's been a very long time since I felt the need to continue reading a series, The Portal Chronicles do that for me... I always anticipate what is going to come next.

Without a doubt The Portal Chronicles by Imogen Rose have been some of the best YA books that I have read come to date. Read Portal, Equilibrium and Quantum and escape through a portal to another world, and back again!

    Like Chocolate Cake!

Words to describe this book- Romantic, dramatic, Mysterious, Science Fiction, YA, Adult. This is listed as a YA novel, but I feel adults will enjoy this too. Heck, I am an adult and I liked it!

Twists or Turns keep this series very intriguing. In PORTAL we had many questions about how did Arizona get where she was, who was her mother exactly, how was the portal created, would she ever get back. In EQUILIBRIUM we had the big question in the end, the cliff hanger (which I won't spoil) and which I loved!

QUANTUM is the third book in Imogen Rose's Portal Chronicles.

I enjoy this book this most out of all the three, I think because I felt like I was getting to know the characters better and deeper as well as from book two getting to know the mother more. I really enjoyed the author's exploration of deeper issues.

The first book was fun, the second book was a cliff hanger, and the third book is like chocolate cake-delicious and deep.

I hope a fourth book will be released, and from the epilogue seems there might be! can't wait!

Glad to have such a talented author on amazon and kindle! we need more independent authors who know how to weave a great tale!

    A Little Farfetched?

I still liked this book as I did the first two, but this one started getting a little bit more farfetched, I believe. A dog Wanderer? Come on now. And her niece, a puppy?

I still like the series, though, so I will go ahead and read the fourth and final book of the series.

What I do like about this story is that it is a time travel/dimensional setting (and that really is my favorite type of book) and the characters are well developed. So I'll give #4 a try and let you know!!!

    Good for young teens

This is a good series for a young teen that is interested in the unusual. If they liked "Twilight" they will probably like this. I read the whole series (as I do with everything I think would appeal to my kids) and would recommend it for the 10 to 14 year old bracket. Not great writing but about on par with Stephanie Meyer.

    too much

I enjoyed to first two books in the series and flew through them. However, the story seemed to spin too far in this book. I also started having Nook formatting issues and difficulties actually reading some pages.

    LOVE THIS BOOK

This third book is great too. It was a little confusing while moving towards the end, but otherwise great! The last complaint I have is that it ended on a cliff hanger, and I can't find the fourth book! Help!

Not as good as the first 2 books,

It felt very rushed. Some things didn't make sense because of how rushed it was. I have no intention on reading the 4th after reading this one. I still loved the first 2, and I don't feel like I wasted time and money on this, but it didn't entertain me as much as the others.

    Good Book

Its a good story to follow. Kept me interested though I think its geared more towards teens to younger adults. I definately dont reget the purchase as I read the first one and had to continue the story, now just waiting for the fourth to come out on ebook so I can finish it.

    A good read...

So far I have read all three and will more than likely read the fourth one when it comes out. The story is very entertaining however I do find myself a bit lost and confused from time to time trying to keep up with all the characters Rose has introduced to us. Sometimes, I have to stop reading and think "Now who was Larry again? Inez? Sophie was a bad girl right?" The whole Arizona/Kellen teenage love stuff can get old from time to time but I am not a YA any longer and these books are for sure made for the YA reader. But I still recommend it for anybody.

    Imogen Rose does it again!

Quantum, the third book in the Portal Chronicles, was fantastic! The series just keeps getting better and better.

In Quantum we learn more of the background of the Wanderers and there are plenty of surprises as well. Yet again I lost sleep reading well into the night! I'm eagerly awaiting the next book in the series.

If you haven't given the Portal Chronicles a try, you should!
