Meet the Author

Hello from leafy Surrey. I left school at fifteen and worked as an engine cleaner before becoming a locomotive fireman at Sixteen. When the diesels took over, I left to join the Royal Air Force. I was in Libya for the British withdrawal following the country's revolution.
I had my own demolition and haulage company for fifteen years and now work as a demolition project manager. I've previously had a small amount of non-fiction published, but no fiction.

    I wanted to like this

But it just didnt happen. At first this book was confusing with the alien stuff but then we just jump right into jane's life and immediately you see how sad it is. Abandoned. A long history of abuse. No confidence. Unloved. Naive. Used. Betrayed over and over. She was in a sense, a bit pathetic at times. She had no fight in her for herself and thats what i hated about her. Forever the victim and that bit got very old and annoying. The whole bob marriage and how she accepted her horrible treatment from him, his friends and family was pitiful. Now, i did sympathize with her all thru the book but after awhile it was clear she was just a weak person. I didnt like how she never got help or confided in terry about her past since she loved him so much. She stayed this damaged person right until she left earth. How was she supposed give herself completely to terry when she couldnt on earth due to her abused past? The author left some important things open when the ending would have been better with some closure in some areas, give jane what she wants most in the world which is love and from the man she wants to be with but at the end of the day she's still the messed up pathetic abused insecure girl on the inside, so is she gonna get that taken care of or not? . Janes character was just a maganet for despair. This was not a happy story even tho it had a happy ending, the author shouldve thrown jane into some serious counseling because that girl needed some help and a serious backbone. Tragic stories are just not my thing. I like reading about strong female characters not constant victims. And the alien pet idea was a tad weird but interesting once i understood it. Long book. Kept me interested, just didnt care for it.

    What the...

That was one of the most oddly written books I've ever read. It was engrossing, but so is a train wreck. The character of Jane was almost too painful to follow. Her string of bad luck was completely unrealistic and the plot was just strange.

    Great read

Started out kind of slow. But by chapter 4 I couldn't put it down. I will read this one more than once.

    A unique but good story

A good read that moves rather quickly, but thoroughly, from one event to another. I recommend reading it for entertainment purposes as well as historical fiction. The unique sequence of events make this book interesting.

    Interesting

This book contains a very interesting concept of alien obduction. People are removed from here at the point of death and set up in a new world. Very interesting read!
