On a trip across the country by motorcycle together, two strangers find themselves not only enjoying the freedom of the open road but each others company as well. Their trip starts off a little bumpy and it takes some time for them to get used to each other which is to be expected. Tom Geiger is a quiet, intense man who has become a loner of sorts due to some recent events that have taken place in his life. As his story is revealed the reader can't help but feel for him as we get to see what exactly happened to bring him to this point in his life. He's taken this trip before would rather travel alone and seems to be very knowledgeable with everything around him. But to put his sisters fears at ease he takes on a riding companion. That companion is Lexie Marshall who is carefree and happy to ride on the journey. She takes in everything while traveling from the beautiful scenery to sharing stories with other travelers. Her joy becomes infectious to Tom and soon we get to see another side to this mysterious man. I really enjoyed reading Lexie's character because she was just so much fun and seemed to truly enjoy herself. As they travel together their attraction to one another grows and Ruthie Knox does a wonderful job setting the pace for this to happen. They begin to notice small things about one another and soon they are taking back roads to not only discover hidden sights, but each other as well. Tom finds himself opening up to Lexie about his past and she is nothing but supportive to him. They soon find themselves sharing a lot more than tidbits about their personal lives as their attraction continues to grow. They soon give into that attraction and I must say their chemistry is on fire! Lots of major tent action going on and I enjoyed every minute of it. I didn't realize that this book was going to be so hot in terms of the romance between the two of them and the author does a great job at writing these scenes! Who knew that sharing a tent could be so steamy!
The characters also take an emotional journey as well as their feelings for one another begin to deepen. They know when they reach the other side of the country that their incredible journey will come to an end. The scene in which Lexie tells Tom how she truly feels about him is absolutely heartbreaking. They both tried their hardest to not fall for the other person during the trip, but as they discover more about one another they realize that there is no one else that they would want to take the journey with. Not only the journey of being on the road, but the journey of being fully loved.
Ride With Me may be Ruthie Knox's debut release, but it certainly doesn't read like one. I found Ride With Me to be extremely well written and thought the whole premise of the storyline was interesting. It was fun and refreshing to travel with Tom and Lexie across the country. It was almost as if I was there watching them fall in love along the way. This book was absolutely adorable and if this is just the beginning of Ruthie Knox's writing, I'm so ready to read whatever she has in store for her readers because it's going to be an enjoyable journey!

Lexie Marshall is ready to ride. Her brother and her have grown up listening to their parents tell the story of meeting on the TransAmerica Trail. Training and planning experience a hiccup when Lexie’s brother gets married and opts out of the trip. Lexie can take care of herself, but its nice to have a riding partner. Putting an ad in the paper, she shifts through them until she finds the one she feels will make this trip the experience she has expected all her life.
Tom feels put upon when his sister signs him up with a riding partner. Believing Lexie is a guy based upon the name Alex being used, he is stunned with the beautiful woman ends up being his partner. But he doesn’t want a partner especially one he is attracted to.
Keeping a distance between them is all Tom wants besides pawning her off onto another partner. As miles pass, he grows more and more attracted to Lexie’s bubbly personality, while Lexie is constantly staring at the backside of Tom. Things heat up, but demons from both their pasts may well end them when the ride approaches the end.
When I first started reading this book, I was a little concerned on how I would like it since I know nothing about riding. While I admire people who can ride like this, it isn’t something I would enjoy the TransAmerica Trail is a riding experience from coast to coast across the US. You can go east to west or west to east the the characters in this book did. It seems to be a lot of camping, taking time to see unusual sites, weight loss from tons of riding and sometimes no shower in sight.
I spent more of the book getting to know characters and not so much the riding aspect. It was interesting but without the romance to it, I probably would not have read it.
Getting past the riding part, the characters were very interesting. Lexie is an English teacher in high school and knows how to handle petulant people, including Tom. She spends a lot of time talking him through his issues and making him see sides he hadn’t considered before. While she was bubbly and trying to get everything out the trip, she was also very detail oriented. She at times just couldn’t let go of a timeline to be somewhere and lacked spontaneity. Two failed engagements make her not even want to get involved with anyone.
Tom has some heavy baggage he is carrying around that have pushed him into being a hermit. He at times just up and goes riding on trails without telling anyone. Pushing himself, or in a way finding himself, he thinks going back to nature will take that baggage away. With Lexie’s help he starts to think of things in a different light and even start to forgive himself in the process.
The romance build slowly as the miles pass by building until it cumulates into some hot tent sex. The author doesn’t hide from the hot side of romance and delivers a punch with each scene.
The ending felt a little abrupt, but there is a hope for the future. Overall, a wonderfully solid and delightfully fun story!

I prefer historical romance novels but chose to be spontaneous when I came across this book. I'm so glad I took the risk. I hope you realize it says, "Ride with Me", and not "Ride Me". I almost passed it up, and it would've been my loss. I blame it on the pecs.
For those who prefer to know ahead of time, there's plenty of sex. It's only my opinion, but really good sex episodes are a bonus to an entertaining romance novel. Enjoy the ride!

OMG, I absolutely loved this book!! I have been hearing the hype for a couple of weeks and knew that I had to read this book, if only for the reason that my husband is a bicyclist and I have been hearing about the TransAm ride for years. BUT this book was SO MUCH MORE than I expected and so freaking good...and funny...and entertaining. I am not a bicyclist, but I LOVED THIS BOOK.
First, just to give you a feel for the book, let me post a couple of quotes...
"If she'd been able to breathe fire, he'd be toast by now, but considering her size and general adorableness, it was like being stared down by Tinker Bell."
"And then there was the hotness thing, which she needed to find a way to stop noticing. She'd just have to focus on his personality. That ought to do the trick."
"...because she'd spent the whole morning two feet off his back tire, staring at his broad shoulders and his chiseled calves. It would have been a nice view if he weren't such a jerk. Okay, technically it was a nice view anyways. But that didn't mean she had to like it."
These are two people who start off this 4000 mile bike ride in the worst of circumstances...hating each other. But it's a 3 month ride where they are spending 24/7 with each other....yep, that tension definitely morphs into something else and whoa! Is it a fun transformation of feelings and attitude to watch. I giggled through so much of this book. Tom has his reasons for being the jerk and hermit that he is, but he wasn't always that way. As Lexie slowly discovers his reasons, you get to watch their feelings develop. A development with NEITHER of them are happy about...they (neither one of them) want to complicate their lives by getting involved.
In the midst of the budding romance, you also get to catch glimpses of the road as they travel cross-country...really fun reading! There wasn't a thing about this story that I didn't love. I loved the story line. I loved the characters. I loved the conflict. I enjoyed the bicycling aspect. I loved the romance. It was just a fabulous book!
BTW, I am NOT a bicyclist, but my husband is. If you walk into our house on any given day, there more than likely will be an Adventure Cyclist mag laying about. My husband is a complete gearhead like Lexie, but uses a Brooks Leather saddle, like Tom's in the book. I am hoping to convince him to give the book a read. I think that he will enjoy it too.

I thought this book was pretty good. :) The character development was pretty well done. Something kept driving me to finish the book and I enjoyed the relationship developing between the characters.
Could have been more naughty parts, but that's ok. :) The book was entertaining enough where I felt that wasn't really missing.

All Lexie wanted was a partner to ride the TransAmerican Trail, but when she met Tom Geiger, she got more than she bargained for. Tom didn't want a riding partner at all, he would much rather go it alone, but his sister had other plans for him.
Ride With Me is the best romantic novel I have read in quite awhile. The characters have an immediate attraction; their energy comes through (right off the page). They are complex and layered, funny and sensitive, mixed-matched...yet perfect for one another.
Ruthie Knox does a great job describing the scenery, without being boring. I was able to imagine the fullness of trees, the bareness of the land, and the changes in the weather. It was as though the landscape was a character in itself, blending right into the story line.
Ride With Me is an overall great read. I could go on and on, but you really should read it for yourself!

I HELD OFF BUYING THIS ONE BECAUSE THE STORYLINE SOUNDED SO LAME. I'M SORRY I WAITED. I READ A BOOK A DAY AND AFTER AWHILE THESE STORIES ARE PRETTY MUCH PREDICTABLE. THIS ONE BLEW ME OUT OF THE WATER AND I ACTUALLY READ IT WORD FOR WORD. I HAVEN'T DONE THAT IN A LONG TIME. GOOD JOB RUTHIE KNOX.

I wasn't sure at first if I would,I'm not really into bike riding cross country, but after a while I got into it. I enjoyed the relationship between Lexie and Tom. They both grew into better people. I'm looking forward to her next book.

Liked the story line. It was just an okay book to me. Didnt really like how the book ended, thought there should be at least one more chapter or something. But all in all it wasn't a bad book.

This book is fun and sexy and has one of my all-time favorite scenes I've ever read (I'll give you a hint: hot sauce is involved). Tom is a broody, sexy-as-hell hero and it was awesome watching the plucky Lexie get under his skin. Don't miss this book. Ruthie Knox will fast become one of your fave authors, guaranteed!

I enjoyed this story very much. It helped that I was familiar with the area in the beginning of their journey. It really put it in perspective what it's like to ride cross country. I had no idea. I will have a new respect for those I pass on the highways and biways of this country. Her next one should be out of the country. South America maybe? This was an adictive read that I could not put down until the last page.
