If you want to learn to play guitar well, look at some other books first.If you want a reference book or just want to touch up your skills a little bit, then you might consider buying this. But if you are starting to learn from scratch, then you will have a hard time learning helpful playing teqnuiqs and how to read music. If you are dedicated to learning guitar, look elsewhere for a better understanding.
This book does not teach you to play guitar that well. Does not include enough musical examples to be of real value. This book only has value as refernce book. there are many better books out there like the Hal Leonard Rock Method
I bought this book to help my band and I. I am the lead singer, but I wanted to play guitar also. This book helped a LOT!! I totally recommend this book to beginners at guitar.

I recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn guitar, I also recommend you pick up Guitar for Dummies as well. In a couple weeks I learned more about guitar than most of the guitar players in my area. It won't make you play guitar, but it will show you how to learn to play guiatr
