    a good rainy-day read

This is the first book I've read actually written under the name Ann Maxwell but I've read several of her Elizabeth Lowell books. If you read and enjoyed the 'Amber Beach' series you should enjoy this book as it's very much along the same lines. It was a pretty quick read once all the characters were introduced and the storyline got going. The romance storyline is rather predictable, but the detail in the main story line seemed quite good -- at least to me!
