Okay, so I understand that John is über alpha, I knew that going into it. I wasn't impressed with this book. It took me 2 days to even get into it, the beginning has nothing to hold you to it. The middle is captivating. I don't know what it was about these characters. I'm a huge fan of fifty shades of grey, and the crossfire series where then men are more dominate and controlling. Those books had me hooked after chapter one. John just seemed scary. There as no vulnerability with no, no give. He was controlling to the point of scariness. At times I was thinking run Sarah run.
Sarah made me hate women. She'd let John tell her how to live her live. End your engagment, never talk to him again, don't hang out with your friends. He seemed to agreesive, almost forcing her to have sex. He wouldn't listen to reason, or consider her feelings in anything. He made her completely dependent on him, not allowing her to have a life of her own.
The end f the book just made me angry. He proposes while angry with her, then it just jumps to 3 years later. What? Why don't romance novels elaborate more? Just as soon as I'm getting not it, they skip what could be good parts. John coming face to face with Randall, or seeing how her life was in Dallas. I feel like 2.99 was wasted.

This story is high on testosterone, short on communication. John is rich, strong, masculine and arrogant. In reality, I would hate a guy like him, but I do enjoy reading about how these bad boys get brought to their knees by a woman. This is not a sensitive romance. He's not a nice guy, because he doesn't know how to be a nice guy. He's been stomped on and unloved and used for his money. There's also a nice bit about Raul and Elaina Vega. Not a lot, just enough to let you know they're still doing okay. If you like her other books, you'll like this one. If you're a feminist, stay away, it'll just make you mad.

The female is a little bit stronger but the male is dominate and border line over the top. What woman wants a man like that?

Very possessive sexy rancher and shy teacher come together in an explosive way. They both have a common history of cheating ex-spouses.

thank you so much to lynda chance for writing another great book!! i have been waiting so patiently and was not disappointed!!!!!! i love the alpha males in her book because they can be stubborn and hard headed but you can see how much they can bend and soften towards their female counterparts. it gave me a chance to catch up on elana and raul and love the fact that the author doesnt skimp on the pages of the book!!!! you get more than you paid for and i absolutely love the epilouges!!! great closure to each story!! please keep writing!!! I CANT WAIT FOR THE NEXT BOOK

Yes john is kind of scary with his alpha male personality but itwas a good read until the end. I was expecting something exciting to happen when they got to dallas but the story just dropped into an abyss, like she just wanted to end it and not write anymore. I thought something ....mystery...scandal....something!... would tie in the trip with the phone call she received earlier in ghe book.....nuttin.

My first book by Ms. Chance and I liked it a lot. Yeah John was extremely alpha it was almost scary but I think many women respond to that. I felt like Sarah should have had a little more of a backbone but other than that it was a good read and well written. Alpha male books written by other authors are great but Ms. Chance gives her males a more tough exterior while having the ability to love someone so much it becomes a bit scary. Sex scenes are awesome. I have already picked up several of her other books. If you don't enjoy reading books with sex and alpha males then don't pick this book up only to give it a bad review for containing the very things all other reviewers are exclaiming about....with that said...enjoy!

I would highly recommend this book to anyone.... I won't get into details about the story because I don't want to ruin it for others. I felt the book was and easy read, didn't want to put it down until I had finally finished it.....FANTASTIC BOOK!!!!
