I was really interested why the title was Sleeper’s Run when I got my copy of this novel. Sure was, there’s a deeper meaning to it.
It’s really good, Sleeper’s Run being Mosquera’s first novel. Fast-paced action was present and the details were comprehensive. I love how meticulous the assassination thing occurred and it awed me how complicated the whole set-up happened. Mosquera did well on researching his topics.
Although I’m an alien to political terms and military stuffs, and I admit having some trouble on it while reading, I am still grateful to have the opportunity to comprehend on it in the end. The twists kept me entertained (and made me lost some nights of sleep). But it’s worth it. I learned a lot of new stuffs and things about the how the government and other organization thinks.
What I personally like about this was the whole hacking fad. It was really interesting on my part, and it’s one of the reasons I was glued on reading this.
Over-all, great job! Definitely recommending this to military and political thriller readers. But if you’re not one, you’ll definitely become.

Everyone likes the book they can’t put down, right? Either it’s frustrating yet compelling or interesting and exciting and you just can’t seem to get anything else done because you keep returning to it. This was one of those books for me. I’ll admit, I read the first chapter or two and put it down for awhile, but when I picked it back up, it was a quick read for me.
There were scenarios I could relate to such as the military references, but there was also a story line that wasn’t so relateable and kept me on my toes. It was exciting- full of action. It was fun to read.
The main character, Eric begins working for the CIA after a strange sequence of events occurs and eventually leads him to Venezuela. There, he meets a woman he believes to be working with and finds himself wanting to get to know her more. Later, Eric is asked to do something that will have him running from the local government there and in the United States, too.
The author researched and carefully developed the characters, cultures, and settings involved in the novel very well. Sometimes it felt like overkill, though. Eric was a larger than life kind of person, but things like that have never bothered me in works of fiction.
I liked the book.

I thoroughly enjoyed "Sleeper's Run." For the most part it was very exciting and action-packed. There were a few points that moved a bit slowly for me, but overall I found it to be really enthralling. The protagonist is quite multifaceted, which made the story so much more enticing as well. Action lovers will really like this!

This book had me hooked from the very beginning!! It is non-stop action from one cover to the other, and is written in the style of a big summer blockbuster action movie. In fact, the story came alive in my mind just like it was playing on a big screen.
I really liked Eric’s character!! He is plagued with very fragile and human emotions, and at the same time he is hard edged, and all about business… the perfect wounded warrior leading man!
If you are looking for an action packed read, with an ending that does not disappoint, check out Sleeper’s Run!!!

Synopsis: (from the authors website) War on terror veteran, Eric Caine is found wondering the streets of Miami with no memory of the car accident that left him there. Alone and suffering from PTSD, Eric is on a one way road to self destruction. Then a chance meeting at a bar begins a series of events that helps Eric start anew. When a new job relocates him to Venezuela-the land of his childhood-things, however, take an ominous turn as a catastrophic event threatens the stability of the country. Now Eric must escape an elite team of CIA assassins as he tries to uncover an international conspiracy in which nothing is what it seems.
The review: Let me just say that the synopsis above is a very tame version of what really happens in this fast paced, hair raising story of intrigue. I could not put the book, or Kindle actually, down...
Wow, what an exciting read! For those of you out there that are addicted to the black ops kind of thing, this one will definitely appeal. Unfortunately, it is hard to review this one without saying too much that will give away and ruin the plot twists...and there are plenty of them! So let me just say that Sleepers Run is a well written novel full of intrigue, adventure, and action...There's even a little bit of romance thrown in for good measure...My recommendation? Pick this one up! You won't be sorry!
5 hearts for this one

Henry Mosquera does a GREAT job at really making you feel like you are on the motorcyle with Eric as he is being chased trying to escape his assailants. This is something you can only get from watching a movie and as an added bonus, you also get the thoughts and feelings of the person being pursued which is not something you get from a movie. Henry uses this same method in describing the fighting scenes where Eric uses JuiJitsu to fight off and outsmart his assailants. Having a husband who is active in this sport, I was familiar with the moves and was able to visualize the moves with clarity. My only drawback was the "political" aspect of the book. We differ in our beliefs in that aspect. Other than that, I really liked how we were able to get inside the head of a Veteren returning from battle. I had no idea how difficult it is for them to return to civilization and return to normal life. Greatly written.

This book had me right from the start. I love books that capture my attention right from the first page, and this one did not let me down. There is so much depth to this book, and it is written so well, that I couldn't help but fall in love with it even though it was a very action packed shoot em up kinda thing that you would think normally would be more a "guys" type of book.
There is a ton of action, and even some killing, but this book overcomes some of the more gruesome scenes with it's compelling plot. It has such a great storyline that you were kept guessing at every turn what the main character, Eric Caine, was going to do next.
As a main character, Eric Caine was a very likeable guy, and he had you on his side from the start, even when things started getting a little shady you still were cheering for him. Honestly it reminded me of the "Bourne" type of plot, where there are spies, CIA, foreign governments, etc. It really is a page turner!
As Henry Mosquera's first book, I think he hit a home run! This is one of those books that you can't wait to actually see in action on the big screen. The only negative thing I can think of for this book is that the main character, Eric Caine, seems to be able to get out of just about every hairy situation he is in so easily it is almost unbelievable. But that is the point right, a super intelligent former military man who is trying to save himself by figuring out the big conspiracy and who is all involved in the cover up.
This one is definitely a winner in my eyes!

This book started out at a fast-pace. I immediately started to like Eric Caine, and his flaws. I enjoyed the story-line and really liked all the twists and turns. It drives me crazy when I can figure out everything in just a few pages. This one kept me surprised for the most part. I enjoyed the ending that left me hoping to hear more about Eric Caine and of course, Trishna.
What I didn't like was the language and the violence. I feel you can tell a story with out giving me all the gory details. The fight scenes were very detailed and sometimes a little too much for me.
So I guess final opinion is, good job by first-time author Henry Mosque. Now, how about writing a sequel with a little less foul language. My poor eyes were burning!

From the prologue to the epilogue, this book has non-stop action. As our story opens, the main character, Eric Caine, is seen stumbling along the streets in Miami. He has just been in an automobile accident but has no memory of it. When someone offers to help him, he is quite disoriented and starts speaking in Arabic and so the police are called. The police find a military ID card among Eric¿s possessions and decide to take him to the local VA hospital. We soon learn that Eric had served in the Air Force and after his discharge found work as a paramedic in Miami. The doctor at the VA at first thinks Eric is just another homeless man but, when he learns about the military ID, keeps Eric at the hospital for treatment. The doctor suggests that he start treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), but all Eric wants is to get away from the hospital, so he checks himself out. A few days later, Eric stumbles into a bar and soon finds himself involved in a bar brawl. After the fight, he meets Antonio Montenegro, a native of Venezuela who befriends Eric, who had lived in Venezuela as a child. Eric has lost his job with the city of Miami due to some violent behavior and Antonio recommends him for a job with Corso International ¿ a large company that is run by a friend of Antonio¿s. Eric is hired by Corso International to keep an eye on their computer systems and catch any hardware or software problems that may arise. The catch for Eric's new job is that he must relocate to Venezuela. Unfortunately, Venezuela is in the midst of some severe political problems because there are several rival factions that are opposing the current Venezuelan President. These factions will stop at nothing to remove him from office. As things around him become even stranger, Eric soon learns that he is being watched. He is unable to identify these 'watchers' but thinks that they are probably government employees, perhaps the FBI or CIA. Eric attends a speech given by the Venezuelan President and has a very harrowing experience. Eric shoots the President and, because of his medical issues, he doesn't remember why he did this horrible thing and runs. Eric has to leave the city immediately to stay alive and escape from the assassins who are sent out from both the Venezuelan government and the United States Embassy. He travels from place to place just one step ahead of these killers. At the same time, he is trying to figure out just who is involved in this plot to change the political climate of Venezuela. Readers will think they are right in the middle of The Manchurian Candidate. The author does a fantastic job of keeping this book very fast-paced. It is hard to put down as it contains everything, including how to run from the law and how to bring the law to you. The book will remind readers of early Clive Cussler novels when his hero, Dirk Pitt, got in and out of trouble in record time but kept the reader¿s attention at all times. Eric Caine is a real hero who isn't full of bluster - this is a man who doesn¿t know, or care, that he is a hero. There is a John Lennon quote in the beginning of the book that says it all: Life is what happens to you while you¿re busy making other plans. That really seems to say it all. Quill Says: For this reader, Sleeper's Run was a one-day read, and I finished wanting more.
