    An delightfully entertaining children's cd

As a former public school music teacher, now stay at home mother of a 22 month old, I am constantly looking for "new" music to play for my toddler. This compilation is wonderful. The songs are catchy to adults as well and you will find yourself singing along with the album as happily as a child might. Though my boy is little, he still picks up on words and sings loudly "Alley, alley O!" whenever he hears the song! We love to dance to "The Swapping Boy" and many others. Though these songs were recorded many years ago, they sound as fresh as if they were done this year. Mr. Langstaff truly sounds like he is enjoying these and the British children's chorus performs wonderfully and exhuberantly. Some of the songs are simple and cathchy. Others are very descriptive and tell a story. I enjoyed "Frog Went A-Courtin" and "Over the Meadow" so much I bought the books also written by John Langstaff to accompany the songs. I "sing" or read the books to my boy or let Mr. Langstaff do it for me while I turn the pages. He loves it! I highly recommend this cd to mothers everywhere who want to spend quality time with their children and give them the great benefit of music.
