Tangled Truth was well written, sexy, informative, and intriguing. I closed the book ready to run out to my local naughty items store to buy some rope, an instructions book and let the hubby go to town. ;). This often unexplored aspect of BDSM was highlighted beautifully by Ms. Dryden as she blended it seamlessly with her romance. I highly recommend this to those who are looking for a romance a bit off the beaten path.
Drew wanted Eva from the moment he’d met her at the art gallery, but the slender blonde wasn’t called the Ice princess for nothing. Careful scheming, and a well thought out bet landed him a date, and both are shocked to find out just how compatible they are. Drew isn’t heavy into the BDSM scene, but ropes appeal to him the way breasts might appeal to another man. For months he’s been picturing her wrapped in his ties while he did delicious things to her delectable body.
The attraction between Drew and Eva forced her to admit she wants him, but not the kink he’s associated with. A bad experience from her past has left her with a bad taste in her mouth as far as the BDSM world is concerned. The question now is can they survive as a couple without it?

Imagine what you can do with a little rope, a little ingenuity, and a lot of time...
This is my first book by Delphine Dryden, but it won't be my last. The writing flowed well and drew me in from page one. I wanted to get to know these characters and to really understand them. My understanding of rope play isn't as wide as it could be, but this book really opened my eyes--in a good way. There's an honesty and a trust in rope play--trust that the person won't go farther than the sub can stand and honesty in that in most cases the only barrier is the rope. I liked reading about it and seeing Eva's journey.
I have to admit, I thought the plot, based on the blurb, would be a lot more simple. I was pleasantly surprised and eager to finish the book. Drew is very much a dominant man. He's got to be in control, but when it comes to Eva, he's controlled AND totally aware of what she needs. Their connection really sizzled. Then there's Eva. She's a lot more complex than I'd figured and it worked well for the story. The twists at the end and the way she carried herself was great to read about.
Oh and the sex? Well, make sure you've got a fireproof screen. You'll be glad you did.
If you have a hankering for a hot read with a little rope for fun and satisfaction, read Tangled Truth. Four cherries, indeed.
