In Lisa Gardner’s first-ever short story following thirteen bestselling novels, The 7th Month takes readers between the books and into a day in the life of Boston Detective D. D. Warren.
In her seventh month of pregnancy, D.D. should be taking it easy. Instead, she accepts a small consulting role on the set of a serial killer film shooting in Boston. D.D. figures she’ll be useful to someone for at least one night, serving as a police expert and making a little extra money in the bargain.
It seems like a simple task—until the previous film consultant, a former Boston cop, is found beaten to death. Suddenly D.D.’s date with Hollywood gets serious. Extremely pregnant, on the trail of a killer, and surrounded by a hundred and four murder suspects in the middle of a graveyard, D.D. must quickly unravel a tangled web of lies. As another cast member is attacked, D.D. realizes that like it or not, her priorities have changed—and her last desperate hope is that she can catch a killer before she and her unborn baby face mortal danger.
Packed with the suspenseful storytelling that has turned Gardner’s novels into New York Times bestsellers, The 7th Month reveals new insights into a beloved series heroine.
Includes an exclusive early look at Catch Me, coming February 7, 2012.

I anxiously awaited a preorder of this book. Thinking it would be a read worthwhile. Have you ever read a book where everyone knows what happens during the first few pages? This book was only 61 pages and a 10 page preview of the authors next book. In 61 pages they found the killer, DD had a baby and everyone lived happily ever after. I feel cheated. Too bad for me.

THIS IS THE MOST INANE STORY I EVER READ. NORMALLY GARDNER WRITES AT LEAST AN EXCITING BOOK, BUT THIS WASN'T ONE OF THEM. I HAVE DELETED IT FROM MY HOOK SINCE I WOULD NEVER READ IT AGAIN AND I'M SORRY I WASTED MY TIME READING IT THE FIRST TIME....

As a fan if Lisa Gardner's stories , I was disappointed with this purchase. The story falls flat and the ending is contrived.

Loved it! Good, quick mystery. Not sure what to make of the last line of the book though. Guess I'll have to wait for Catch Me to find out.

how are you going to give it a terrible rating because YOU failed to realize that it was a short story?! hellooooo, READ the INFO!
"In Lisa Gardner’s first-ever short story..." i thought that was pretty self explanatory for everyone. apparently i give people too much credit.

VERY short book without time to develop plot much. Wish I would have realized it was so short before purchasing. Normally I love Lisa Gardner's books.

There was really nothing much to it-thought it was going to be a book, not a short story.

I have always loved Lisa Gardner's books however I felt this book was not quite as good as her others and definitely much to short. Had I know it was only 71 pages long I probably wouldn't have purchased it.

Lisa Gardner just can't miss when writing about DD Warren--whether in novels or short stories. The suspense is still there, building to a crescendo, even though the length is much shorter than her novels. The characters are real-to-life, and anyone who has ever been pregnant can relate to DD's condition! Don't miss this exciting interlude between her latest two novels--I couldn't stop reading until the very last page! I recommend reading the novels in order for the best experience. If you are a fan of the female detective genre, Lisa Gardner and the DD Warren novels are for you! Just don't forget to insert this short story before the newest one!
