Overview

From Best Selling Author, Lexy Timms, comes a billionaire romance that'll crank up the heat and have you falling in love all over again.

Jamie Connors has given up on finding a man. Despite being smart, pretty, and just slightly overweight, she's a magnet for the kind of guys that don't stay around.

Her sister's wedding is at the foreground of the family's attention. Jamie would be fine with it if her sister wasn't pressuring her to lose weight so she'll fit in the maid of honor dress, her mother would get off her case and her ex-boyfriend wasn't about to become her brother-in-law.

Determined to step out on her own, she accepts a PA position from billionaire Alex Reid. The job includes an apartment on his property and gets her out of living in her parent's basement.

Jamie has to balance her life and somehow figure out how to manage her billionaire boss, without falling in love with him.

** The Boss is book 1 in the Managing the Bosses series. All your questions won't be answered in the first book. It may end on a cliff hanger.

For mature audiences only. There are adult situations, but this is a love story, NOT erotica.

Not far in and this is already rather irritating with the amount of time spent dealing with the weight part of the character's personality. As a plus sized lady, itsirritating how many books seem to make self-esteem an issue that completely imcompasses a woman's life to the point that every woman the main character sees she focuses and discribes their weight class. And the fact everything seems to go wrong at some point is not a way to make me like the character. Kind of tempted to put this one away.

It's well written and captured my interest just to end. The characters are just getting to be defined and relationships are developing anc it ends. nothing is resolved. I don't like having to buy 5 more books just to finish a story. So sadly I won't be continuing this series.

I am big fan of confident women and alpha males. I am really annoyed by the amount of the book so far that has been devoted to Jamie's weightl Blah. I think I will try to come back to this one later. Maybe it is just me?

Really liked this book. Very hot and steamy. Great story line. Loved the main characters. Cliffhanger ending, of course. Its one book broken into 4. First one is free, to get you hooked and the rest are $3.00. I wish authors would quit doing that. Its very annoying!!

What a great start to the series!! I fell in love with Jamie right from the start. She has had a horrible life and has an even worse family, but the one bright light in her life is her new boss Alex. He is everything she could want in a man, but she doesn't want to cross that line. Why you might ask? Because she doesn't feel worthy of anything good, her family has beat her down for so long, that she is not sure how to be strong anymore. What she doesn't realize is that is she strong because of them. They may have degraded her beyond belief, but only a truly strong person could survive that. Alex, oh how I love Alex. He knows he shouldn't want Jamie, but he can't help but be attracted to her. He tries to keep his distance, but the more he tries, the more he fails. He isn't sure what to do with his feelings and tries everything he can to stop them from coming to light. What he doesn't realize is that he is just the type of man Jamie needs. I loved seeing how strong Jamie was in the face of all things bad in her life. I loved how she fought for her independence and would let nothing stop her from keeping her job. I also loved how Alex kept slipping up around her. I can't wait to see what is in store next for these two. I truly hope the author gives them the HEA they both deserve!

Jamie Connors meets Alex Reid at a restaurant where her ex-boyfriend is celebrating being engaged to her sister. She is recommended to him as a woman who is not distracting, who is overweight. Her family treats her like a fat Cinderella. She needs the job so she can move out of her parent's basement. Alex offers her the job right away. She comes highly recommended by her previous employers. She is also overwhelmed with planning the wedding for her sister who is a lazy, spoiled brat. She is also marrying Jamie's ex. Even when she asks her family to join her for her birthday dinner - they do not remember what day it is. She has to pay. The discussion at the table is only on her sister's wedding and not on her birthday. What kind of family does that? Such an incredibly moving story. I wanted to reach through the book and kill the sister and ex-boyfriend. This book definitely moves the reader to feel things. All kinds of things. On the other hand, it has great characters and an amazing plot. I do not want to give it all away. I will say as book one in the new Managing the Bosses series, it was a definite BANG! I loved all of it and cannot wait for the next book! ***This ARC copy was given from the author for review purposes only.
