    Good book

Typical Robert Ludlum thriller. Good plot... maybe a little slow in the beginning but that is needed to develop the story.

    Incredable!

ABsolutely fantastic! If you are a Ludlum fan you MUST have this book. Amongst his finest work, the Matarese Circle is a thriller that starts at the beginning and never let's up. Taleniekov, and Scofield are both good characters, and the plot comes into focus at just the right pace. This is a great book that I highly recommend.

    favorite book of all time.

Brilliant. Being pregnant and not working I've had a lot of time on my hands, and ended up powering through this book in 4 days, not doing much else but reading, eating, and sleeping.. a lot of each. This is by far the best book I have ever read, and no other book has come close to taking hold of my attention like this one did.

    first Ludlum book

The Matarese Circle was pretty brilliant. I've read the other reviews and they are pretty much dead on. I can only hope all of his other books are as good as this one cause I'm going to read many more soon.

    The Best of Ludlum's Novels

Without controversy this the best of all Ludlum's novels. I read this book at 18 and even at 42 the plot and the names of the two main characters are indelibly engraved in my mind.I have not read any book by any other author which comes close.

    The Best of All

This is the best book I have ever read! About every three to four years I pick it up and read it again. I have read it four times and it is still suspenseful and I can't put it down, even though I know the ending. I have recommended this book to everyone I know who is an avid reader of novels. Great! Great! Great!

    The Greatest!

I have no idea how many books of Ludlum you've been chanced to read, perhaps a lot, perhaps a few. But I tell you, in all, Matarese Circle is the greatest book ever written by this man. As a matter of fact, Matarese Circle is the greatest of it's kind, in this genre. Ludlum was undoubtedly at his finest, when he wrote this great thriller.

This may be his finest work

I was quickly addicted to Ludlum after beginning this novel. Never before had I seen so much DETAIL in a book before. With Lulum's style of prose, it is easy to picture the scene in your mind as you read. Fast paced and full of surprises and action, THE MATARESE CIRCLE, along with the BOURNE IDENTITY, will probably be the two works Robert Ludlum should be most proud of. They will most likely never work in Hollywood, as they are too complex and lengthy to adapt to a screen plot. This past summer's release proved that.

    Great Book

I've always been a fan of Ludlum's books since in my teens thanks to my mom so my review might seem a little biased. But the way how this book makes you want to turn the page to find out what is going to happen next makes it a must for what i call people who like a GOOD BOOK it has a good deep plot and very exciting I'm glad my wife found that book now i can just add it to my collection

    Just can't put it down!!!

Robert Ludlam helps the average insomniac pass the time with this amazing book! Suspense, intrigue, action, a touch of romance, thrills, and much more are all packed within the cover of this book. Definitely made me a Ludlam fan!

    getting through the holidays.....2001

During this past Thanksgiving weekend, I was debating what novel to pick-up to get me through the holiday blahs.... My modest bookshelf in the basement had several choices to keep me from going to my local B & N. Besides... I had 3 books on my Xmas list to wait for, so I resisted temptation and picked up Robert Ludlum's 'Matarese Circle'. Even though this selection is over 20 years old (published 1979), I had a hunch I couldn't go wrong...passing through the holidays with a good old fashioned spy thriller. I hadn't seen the 'call letters' for the CIA and KGB for some time. My hunch was right! World domination at the core of the plot with some terrorist overtones...got a little too close to home on occasion, but for the most part a great read. This was one of Mr. Ludlum's early efforts and it may be one of his best...exotic locations, skilled adversaries, descriptive violence and a rapid-fire pace. Elements that are the cornerstones for the successful thriller. Mr. Ludlum passed away in 2001, but any novelist in this genre will continue to try to imitate this spymaster for years to come.

You won't regret- You can't reject!

If you like action then you'll love this book. JUST READ IT!! I found this book in between my grandfathers books by mistake. I opened the first page and started reading and read on and on and on and on... and the time I could leave it down on the table was when I finished the last sentence... I read and slept for 3 days and finished it. It was probably the best book I've ever read and the most thrilling one. I guess this book is enough to make you a Ludlum fan. Just give it a go you won't regret! And afterwards you won't be able to reject another Ludlum novel.

    One of the Greatest!

Great book, ranks up there with all the Ludlum's I've read. Nobody puts more surprises in a book. Nonstop action.
