I simply could not put this book down until I finished it. I read it in one sitting. Creepy, weird story that grabs you from the first page and holds your attention until the last page. Excellent read. Looking forward to reading more of Christopher Allan Poe's work.

Christopher Allan Poe is the great great great nephew of Edgar Allan Poe. (I might have the amount of 'greats' off there - not sure) This is his first book - so keep that in mind when you read it. I didn't read it as a literary critic because then I'm sure I would have found some fault in it. I read it as a person who enjoys to read books of this genre and I enjoyed it! I would recommend you give it a try! I think he did a great job for his first book and it was one I didn't want to put down until I was finished! That's exactly what I love in a book! I was hooked from the start and now can't wait until his next book!

Beginning at the first page, you will feel like you are on a roller coaster and don't want to get off until the last page. He is a great writer and I can't wait to read more of his work.

Absolutely fantastic! Christopher Allan Poe's novel The Portal is one of the best two-thumbs-up, edge-of-your-seat paranormal thrillers I've read in a long time. From the first few pages, I knew I was hooked. High-stakes are presented in a whirlwind of tense immediate action right from the get-go. But it's not all creepy, keep-you-up-at-night thrills. In the middle of everything is the very real love between a mother and son that is absolutely relatable and believable. Definitely pick up this book and spread the word.

For full disclosure - I know Christopher Allan Poe. That being said, THE PORTAL is my favorite book of the year. Trust me, once you pick it up, you'll never want to put it down. It's a fast-paced, action-packed paranormal thriller that had me hooked from start to finish. You must check it out!

This really is a page turner. I would have liked some more character development, but it was a strong, enjoyable read if you like the supernatural.

This book starts pumping right from the first page and continues to the last! THE PORTAL is like a manic Stephen king novel.

So bad I couldn't even finish reading it. I would have guessed it was a self-published novel.

I would give this no stars. But I have to give it something. This was just awful. I had no idea what the heck was going on, which was rare for me. And for crying out loud, even the great-great nephew of Edgar Allan Poe should know the difference between waste (something produced by humans and the human body) and the waist (the dividing part between the upper and lower body). In a word: failure.

Absolute GARBAGE! Not even worth a $1.
