Overview

A story of misplaced expectations and unexpected passion from #1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts.

For a change of pace, renowned anthropologist Kasey Wyatt takes a job working for bestselling author Jordan Taylor, who needs helps researching his latest novel about the Plains Indians.

Upon arriving at Jordan’s impressive Palm Springs estate, Kasey finds all the trappings of a family, but none of the warmth. Jordan’s forbidding mother is immediately suspicious of her, while Jordan’s shy and serious orphaned niece represses her curiosity. Jordan himself is an expert at hiding his emotions behind an aristocratic facade.

Hardly the quiet and bookish woman they were all expecting, Kasey infuses their lives with light and laughter. And suddenly Jordan finds himself drawn to a woman unlike any he has ever desired, one who is able to transform his day-to-day existence into a life worth living...

This book seemed far below Nora Robert's usual standards. There was no character development, no reason evident for the characters to be so in love with each other. I wish Barnes and Noble would reveal the original publication date instead of just the date of release as an e-book. Had I known this book was from the eighties and hopelessly dated, I would never have paid $5.99 for it! Big disappointment.

This is a reprint of an older book from the ‘80’s. The book is a sweet love story that is so predictable – no surprises.

This reallly sucked for Nora too predictable and felt it was a repeat of previous books How disappointing

A fun book in Roberts' traditional style. Likable characters who pull you into the situation.

Do not read this book if you are an empathetic person or have experienced sexual violence, emotional manipulation and abuse, or any other type of violence against women. The climax of this book is a the male protagonist raping the female protagonist. Then when he owns up to it and attempts to apologize she tells him it's all okay; it wasn't rape; she didn't fight back too much; she still wants to be with him. It's a terrible book and one of the most anti-women/feminist romance novels I've ever read. I had such high hopes going into it - a book about a spunky, intelligent, anthropologist who rebels against the bourgeoisie lifestyle she was forced into. Sounds great. Could've been great. Wasn't.

Grey x Natsu.
"Get your pants back on!" Natsu yells in Grey's face.
"No way, slanty eyes!" Grey yells back. They've been arguing for hours. Finally, Laxus speaks up.
"Just me out already. Might as well with your faces that close." He mutters the joke as Freid hangs over his shoulder.
Natsu takes the joke seriously and kisses Grey, leaving Laxus to shut up and walk away.
Grey punches Natsu hard in the gut, his face tinged with red. "What the he<_>ll, hothead?!" He glowers at Natsu. "It was a joke!"
"I know that, per<_>vert." Natsu grumbles and slugs Grey hard. This time he lights his fist on fire. "And what is wrong with your face?"
Grey tackles Natsu and kisses him hard before shoving him away. "None of your buisiness." He turns the floor to ice. He shoves Natsu down and walks away upset.
