This was my first Hardy Boys book and I loved it! I want to read them all. My parents have bought me about 30 of them - I will read them in order. This book was exciting and also gave you clues to help you work on the mystery. It was fun seeing the boys outsmart some grown-ups.

This was a great book. The suspense started from the beginning until the end. Before I read this book, I didn't like any mystery stories. Now, I have changed my mind and want to read the whole series of Hardy Boys Mystery Stories. I highly recommend this book.

These are a favorite, especially tower treasure. I have read all of the hardy boys books and the other series that has rocky road in it. These are great and dixon does a great job of making a thrilling mystery. DrewDog.

I enjoyed the Hardy Boys when I was young, and my son loved this first book. It's a bit dated, but in this age of overstimulation, flashing lights, and blackberries, the lack of all those things is a relief. It's also a little goofy, because it's hard to believe anyone is as perfect as the Hardy family. My son couldn't wait for each chapter, and has now given copies of this book to several friends.

This is the first story I have read by this writer. From my point of view, this book was a great detective story. (8-year-old-reader review)

Book review By Grant Loescher: The tower treasure By Franklin W. Dixon The Applegate treasure is missing and there is a $1,000 reward for the person who finds the missing $40,000 in diamonds and bonds. The Tower Treasure by Franklin W. Dixon is about the mystery of the missing treasure and the two boys who try to solve it. Frank and Joe Hardy go to Bayport high school, Joe is more easygoing and Frank is always determined to solve every mystery. They look everywhere for the treasure and the thief but when Mr. Applegate¿s butler is accused, the butler is fired and quickly running out of money and nobody else will hire him now. The pressure is even more overwhelming for the Hardy boys. When the thief is caught he is almost fatally injured and the hardy boys still don¿t know where the treasure is, if the thief dies they will never find the treasure, and Mr. Applegate¿s butlers name will never be cleared. The thief¿s last words were: ¿the treasure is in the old tower-¿ then he lost consciousness. The old tower? Of the Applegate mansion? Why would he hide it right next to where he stole it? These are the questions the hardy boys still have. After looking in the old tower many times the hardy boys still couldn¿t find it. What tower is he talking about? The Tower Treasure is a Mystery filled with action, plot twists and a little humor. This book would appeal to people who like easy to read books, especially mysteries.

Meeting Well Known Characters for the First Time Frank and Joe Hardy are the sons of famous detective Fenton Hardy.  They occasionally make deliveries for him, and that is just what they are doing when they are almost driven off the road - twice - by a car they later find crashed on the side of the road.  When they stop to visit their friend Chet, they learn that his jalopy has recently been stolen.  Anxious to prove themselves detectives, they begin to investigate, but as they go along, even more crime begins to hit their town of Bayport.  Is there a connection?  Can they solve the crime? It's been years since I read any book in the Hardy Boys series, so I was curious to see what I would think of this book when I reread it.  While I was much more aware of the flaws of the book now, I still found myself enjoying it.  The characters are pretty flat, and the plot, while connected, was still a bit episodic here - something I don't remember thinking when I read these books as a kid. Still, I can remember why I loved the series when I was younger.  Today's kids might have trouble with a few dated terms (chums, anyone?), and the money involved also dates things, but the adventure and mystery will still thrill middle school kids.
