Editorial Reviews

Fallen Angels Review - Teresa Reviewer
Ms. Calmes has continued her incredible story with this phenomenal sequel. I, for one, couldn't put this book down until the very end and hope that this isn't the end of Jin and Logan's story

Erotic yet soul searing love . . .

Trusted Bond is the continuing story of Jin Rayne, the Reah of the Mafdet tribe, and Logan Church, the Semel-re of the tribe and his ‘true mate.’

From page one you see Jin up to his usual misadventures, hiding from his mate in a strange attempt to protect his own attackers. Jin’s just like that, can’t stand to see others hurt, especially if it’s over him. Very soon though the real danger appears in the form of an ex-love that decides that kidnapping and torturing a Reah is a good idea. Even escape does not make things right for poor Jin though as the greatest of all Semel manages to get his power hunger paws into Jin and holds him captive.

But all Jin wants is Logan. All Logan wants is to find and get back Jin. This should not be so hard even in Egypt!

I have yet to be disappointed by a Mary Calmes story as they are always passionate, engaging, H.O.T, and sweet. It’s a hard combo for so many authors yet she has truly mastered her writings. I found myself happy, scared, repulsed, angry, excited, and just plain sappy, throughout Trusted Bond. This book is part of a series and to fully enjoy it you do need to read Change of Heart first.

Jin and Logan are two of my favourite were-characters of all time and Mary’s amazing ability to show their erotic yet soul searing love for each other puts her in a special place as an author and on my bookshelf! I recommend this book to any that love M/M erotic books but where the story is really the focus and the sex supports, not rules, the book or characters.

Summary If you enjoyed book one in the series, Change of Heart,

    Summary
If you enjoyed book one in the series, Change of Heart, then you'll enjoy this next installment in the series. Trusted Bond is Book 2 in the Change of Heart Series and is not recommended as a stand alone read. There are too many characters and details from the first book, Change of Heart, with which readers need to be familiar for Trusted Bond to make sense. Jin Rayne is a werepanther mated to tribe leader Logan Church, and is having trouble shaking his go it alone ways. Now that the excitement and newness of his bond to Logan has worn off, Jin is questioning the long term viability of their relationship. Right as all these issues come to a head, Jin gets kidnapped threatening his mate bond, his sanity and even his life. Trusted Bond by Mary Calmes is well worth the $5-7 for which most booksellers offer the ebook version.

    Fantasy World
Trusted Bond has even more details of the werepanther world which is descended from ancient Egyptian society. It takes a little work to keep all the tribe roles, characters, and laws straight, but it's worth the effort. Some suspension of disbelief is necessary for Jin's amazing luck in escaping his kidnappers, and developing new talents.

    Tingle Factor
This is a male/male romance with full physical details. Jin and Logan spend more time apart in this book due to the kidnapping, but when they do get together - FIRE.

    Romance
Trusted Bond spends more time with the heart and relationship development than Change of Heart did. The slight shift in focus is a good addition to the series and helps the characters grow.

    Drama
Kidnappings, challenges, and violent battles continue. Especially the kidnappings. Jin is the center of many powerful werepanthers' interest and they all want to keep him for their own benefit.

    Hero #1
Jin Rayne trusts no one and keeps his secrets to himself. It's hard to tell sometimes if this is more helpful or hurtful or just a bad habit of his. Regardless Jin is a tough kitty with a knack for survival. He develops some new talents which leave him a bit confused as to who he really is, but he does manage to clarify the longings of his heart. As with book one, Jin is an upbeat character who is fun to read even when he's being held hostage.

    Hero #2
Logan Church takes a back seat in Trusted Bond and is mostly off the page. The very dominant tribe leader is rescued by his diminutive lover, and Logan also has to adjust to Jin's new talents. Fortunately Logan is not completely emasculated, and what little there is of him is enjoyable to read.
