Overview

Her name is Bond. Jamie Bond. And her life is about to be shaken and stirred in a cocktail of sex, lies, scandal, and one very dead body.

Jamie Bond is a former cover model who switches gears to take over the family business: The Bond Agency, a high-powered P.I. firm located in Los Angeles that specializes in domestic espionage - catching cheating husbands. Jamie's assembled a team of other disenchanted former models to help her take names and kick derrieres among L.A.'s wealthiest philandering husbands. Her current client: Mrs. Veronica Waterston, the young, distraught wife of superior court judge, Thomas Waterston, known for his tough sentencing, right-wing leanings, and his fondness for blondes with double D's. Easy target. But Jamie's simple case takes an unexpected turn for the worse when the not-so-good judge winds up on the ten o'clock news with a bullet through his head. It's clear that someone has set Jamie up, and suddenly she's on the run, under fire, and in serious jeopardy of losing it all. With a hot A.D.A. on her trail, a killer on the loose, and her life on the line, Jamie must prove once and for all that nobody messes with a Bond.

I enjoyed the few high heel series I read so Gemma's name caught my eye. I enjoyed this book & hope there are more. The characters are not as ditzy as the high heel series. I did not suspect the killer which is rare for me. There's potential for a great series.

Quick read, a number of pages only half "full" so was shorter than the number of pages given. Odd. Moved quick and good summer read.

This one definitely has a different feel from Ms. Halliday's other books, but the characters have the same smart, tough, independent yet very feminine qualities of her previous heroines. It's a page-turner with lots of twists and a surprise ending, true to form for Gemma! I've read it twice already and loved it even more the second time! This promises to be a really fun new series!

This book was very entertaining but didnt have much of a plot. Its an easy read. This is the first book I have read by this author. I would try another one

While this was a quick entertaining book, it felt rushed and somewhat anticlimactic. If you go into it understanding that, then it was good.

Not her best. The characters are flat. The high heels series have believable characters with a good mystery and humorous situations

There is better grammar in this book than in the last book she wrote. Made reading the book more enjoyable. Likeable characters and decent plot.

If you are a fan of the High Heel series, which I am, just a warning, this book is more adult and slightly more edgy. It does not have the laugh out loud moments the High Heel series has. But the women are smart and beautiful. And where Maddie just happened to fall into situations, Jamie Bond goes looking for them. Drags in a few places, but every time it dragged it seems like a hand came out and pulled me back in.

Ebook Read 10/12-10/13 5***** Mystery, chick lit [ NB: I am part of a Gemma Halliday moderated facebook reading group. I purchased this outside of the group. However, this does not influence how I read and review this or any book. All opinions are 100% my own .] James (Jamie) Bond was a highly paid model for a prestigious firm...until she was deemed to old to be represented by them. She decided to become a PI and take over her father Derek's firm, hiring other models who also had real lives as her cohorts. However, the economy has tanked and her accountant is trying to force her into letting one of her girls go. She wheedles another week out of him and it all beaks loose as the husband of a client gets killed after the Bond Agency has "gotten the goods" on his cheating. Trouble is, it wasn't his wife who hired them. Jamie's been set up. Laced with Halliday's wonderful sense of humor, there are humerous confrontations of a lot of stereotypes here. Bottom line: smart chicks rule...even if Dads might not think so. Bring on more Bond Gemma! Long may she grace our world of books!

Funny, romantic & well written! I've read a lot of Gemma Halliday's books & this series is one of my favorites! They created a well written book book with characters that I look forward to getting to know better as the series continues. This book had a great twist at end which I loved! I'd recommend this book to anyone!

I have read pretty much every Gemma Halliday book out there, but as with Luck be a Lady (which I ended up loving by the way) I was hesitant to start a series that was a collaboration, cause those don't always go that well, but I got some time and decided to give it a try and boy am I glad I did! It was a fantastically fun read and most importantly hilarious. The dialogue between all the characters had me laughing out loud a number of times. The hot love interests didn't hurt either. I'm definitely rooting for Danny, but you never know Aiden might worm his way into my heart. This book was so hard to put down that I devoured it in only a few hours. If you haven't done so pick it up now. It's worth your money and time. Can't wait for the next adventure!
