Overview

Being a zombie, not so easy. That could have been Dave Connor's six word memoir. "At first he couldn't remember how he'd ended up in that shallow grave; he just knew it was hell to claw his way out, and that the taste of its dirt would remain in his mouth for the rest of his time on this earth" ... Expect the unexpected in this existential resurrection thriller. (cover photo by Sergey Mironov)

Meet the Author

I write books across a lot of different genres and styles. I've got some sci-fi, some mystery, some satire, some young adult, a little kids' book, and some just plain old-fashioned stories.

My most downloaded titles are Zombie Nights, Snapdragon Alley, Death Ray Butterfly and Freak City.

My own personal favorites are Secret Sidewalk, Renegade Robot, Tiddlywink the Mouse and Orange Car with Stripes.

Some of my books are related to each other, sharing characters, locales and plots.

Snapdragon Alley, Freak City and Dragon Town comprise the Dragon City Trilogy

Ledman Pickup is geek fiction that builds on World Weary Avengers.

Hidden Highway follows the adventures of the former cult leader from Secret Sidewalk.

Zombie Nights, Death Ray Butterfly and Raisinheart share certain characters across the genres of horror, comic science fiction, and coming-of-age.

Fissure Monroe features the intrepid private eye, Dawn Debris.

Missy Tonight follows Orange Car with Stripes in these stories of atheist comic sci-fi pulp fiction.

Golden is a screenplay based on Time Zone. Jimmyland is a screenplay based on Phantom of the Mall.

Inspector Mole pops up all over the place.

Return of the Sexy Teenage Vampires is, naturally, the sequel to Sexy Teenage Vampires.

If you like one, chances are you'll like another, and if you don't, well, thanks for giving it a try!

It was alright for a short story

I have to admit that I never read something like this, it takes the place of the zombie and how he feels (or lack of it) and acts and goes about his life...er existence. Although it is short (which is kind of too bad) it was a good read. The story ended quite suddenly though, and had it been longer it would probably have had a greater impact on me. It ended too quick. But like I said, it is a short story. The characters are interesting and I wish it gave more time to let us get to know them. Overall though I did enjoy the book and would definitely read it again.

    Pretty good

It was creative and it made you think, but it was rushed at the end. Could use more detail and should have told why they wanted him dead

    Good

Well written book until the end. It was very creative. The end is really rushed though. I'd say it's worth reading as long as you know the end is left to be desired.

    Pretty good

It is perfect!!! But then you read the ending. For a free book it is worth a read.

    Should I be excited?

Great. I'm reading the reviews and am disapointed with what I hear about the ending, sounds like the first book I wrote, but I will still read it and see.

    Was intriging but..

there is absolutely no ending so its a big dissappointment. It seems like the writer himself was really excited by this story and gave it everything he had, then suddenly he lost interest and slapped together an ending. Really gets your hopes up but then does not deliver at all.

    Ok

For me, a slow one. For a free book, ok. I kinda skipped thru it just to see what happened.

where is the rest of it?

what started out as a book with promise, ended as a story that seemed rushed and lacking. It was predictable but the author just ran through the ending like he had a minimum of words to complete it. I gave it three stars because i like his idea behind the story and thought it was creative but was more sad than disappointed at the way it was wrapped up.

Fun and quick and a tiny bit scary

    PROs : Easy to read. Short (137 pages). Interesting lead character. Anything related to zombies is usually a good time for me. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - CONs : Hard to keep track of all the names. The ending felt a bit rushed. A few grammatical errors/typos. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - CONCLUSION : Hey! It's quick, it's free and it's a zombie book! What more can you ask for? I liked it. It reminded me a bit of that movie Creepshow from the 1980s. This story would have fit in perfectly in that movie.

    Good book for price

Very good book for the fact that it is free. The ending is somewhat of a letdown and should be changed.

    Mediocre

This story begins as a if it were written in a hurry. There is a lack of enviroment and character development. It suprisingly becomes interesting and engaging about 3/4 of the way through, but comes to a disappointing, nonsensical, and lazily written ending. The story has much potential, and I really enjoyed the concept.

    Different

An interesting view of zombies from anything I've ever read. I thought it was well written and left me wishing there was more. I'm surprised it's free. Totally worth downloading.
