We know from the first book, Dragons Love Tacos, that these creatures looooove those delicious little meat-filled tortillas, parties, and—best of all—taco parties. Plus, they absolutely detest spicy salsa. Should they ever accidentally eat something spicy, well, it leads to some pretty disastrous results. We can’t wait to see what happens in this continuation of their taco-filled tale.

We don’t want to imagine our own lives without tacos, but we’re happy to follow along with Rubin and Salmieri’s colorful crew of dragons to see how they handle the crisis.
What’s better than taco-eating dragons? Time-traveling, taco-eating dragons! What if the dragons could time travel back to when tacos were still plentiful? Could they save these oh-so-tasty dishes from going extinct? That’s exactly what readers will find out when the book’s kid protagonist hops into a crazy time machine to get these dragons the yumminess they crave.

Dragons Love Tacos is a hilarious book full of dragons eating tacos, planning taco parties, marking the taco parties on their calendars, and more. And we know that the sequel will be just as silly and taco-filled. Author Rubin’s zany storytelling when combined with illustrator Salmieri’s detailed drawings of these expressive dragons really tickle our funny bones.
Those dragons are probably going to get at least a drop of spicy salsa—and you know what happens when they have spicy salsa. In Dragons Love Tacos, the winged-ones accidentally got a taste of some spicy salsa—the kiddo hosting the taco party didn’t read the fine print on the “totally mild salsa.” And if there’s one thing dragons hate just as much as they looove tacos, it’s spicy salsa. It makes them breathe fire, and it really upsets their delicate tummies. And in the first book, it made them burn a house down!
