5 Fictional Bookworms We Want in Our Next Book Club
When you love books, there is nothing better than surrounding yourself with other book nerds. The kind of people who will wait on line at midnight with you for new releases and, promptly, be prepared to talk about their thoughts on the book the following morning. The people who won’t blink when you marvel over the use of multiple narrators or non-linear structures. Who will go to bat with you defending a character’s unpopular decision (of course she married Rochester, dear reader).
I’ve taken the liberty of creating my very own imaginary inner circle of bookworms. In my mind, we meet in secret at a cozy nook in a Paris cafe because, well, isn’t that where you’d want to meet? And you’re welcome to join us, anytime. Just bring the broken spine of your favorite paperback. And chocolate. And be sure to order an espresso. Because it might help you keep up with these fabulous book nerds.

This girl loves stories, plain and simple. Her imagination rivals Anne’s, but she also has a knack for adopting any character role that strikes her fancy. She takes fan fiction to another level. With Grace in your book club, you never know who’ll show up to the next meeting. A pirate! Joan of Arc! Peter Pan! And Grace has this beautiful habit of reminding us, again and again, that, through the pages of a book, you can be anyone or anything you want to be.
